Fall Guys developer Mediatonic announced that Season 3 of its Wipeout-esque multiplayer game will begin this week with an underwater theme following Season 2’s space adventure. Season 3 will begin this Tuesday, Nov. 22 and will be called Sunken Secrets, as the bean characters are transported to a lost city under the sea. The season will bring new rounds such as the giant slide Speed Slider, Puzzle Path maze, and the violent Kraken Slam stage....

Bethesda’s Fallout 76 is just around the corner, and you might need to do a bit of spring cleaning on your hard drive: The game’s day one patch weighs in at a massive 51.641GB (via PSU). That’s a pretty meaty file in itself, but even more so when you consider the fact the game’s initial install size is 45GB. In total, this means you’ll need to clear just over 96GB from your hard drive to squeeze everything on your console....

Putting a video game into a specific genre can be tricky. Ubisoft have a new video out, in which they gush about the state of Montana and talk about adapting it for Far Cry 5. The gorgeous landscape gets many plaudits throughout, as does the variety of vegetation. Animals too, of course, are a big part of Far Cry as a series, and Montana’s wildlife felt “exactly a match”. The Ubisoft talking heads also note that it was interesting to see play-testers opting to follow the roads in Far Cry 5’s fictional version of the state....

A pre-alpha gameplay trailer for The Finals has been released ahead of a closed alpha test which will begin on Friday. The Finals, which is being developed by Embark Studios, was codenamed Project Discovery. Last month, former EA executive turned CEO of Embark Studios Patrick Söderlund revealed the decision to ship The Finals as the developer’s first game was the reason Arc Raiders was delayed. The Finals is planned to be a free-to-play PvP FPS where players compete in a virtual game show....

Developer Asobo has released its latest Sim Update for the majestic Microsoft Flight Simulator, this one bringing, among other things, long-awaited DLSS support for PC. Alongside DLSS anti-aliasing and upscaling, Asobo says Sim Update 10 should deliver “stability, performance, and memory usage” improvements for those using Flight Simulator’s in-development Direct X12 support - although it notes the new memory allocator will only be activated once Nvidia’s next GPU driver is released....

The latest trailer for A44 Games and Kepler Interactive’s upcoming ARPG, Flintlock: Siege of Dawn, has surfaced as part of the Gamescom festivities today, and it does a great job to showcase the slick combat mechanics that have put the game firmly on our radar since its debut presentation earlier this year. If you’re not yet up to speed with the game, Flintlock fuses magic gunpowder-wielding as Nor and her fully voiced foxlike companion, Enki, team up to prevail against the Gods....

During a presentation at the 2020 DICE Summit on Wednesday, Sean Shoptaw, Senior Vice President of Games and Interactive Experiences for The Walt Disney Company, shared his perspective on trends in the video game industry that are changing the gaming landscape. One of those trends he’d like to see continue is the creation of more games like 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Shoptaw, who has been with Disney since 2011, encouraged developers and creatives to “come and play” with Disney’s extensive catalog of characters and franchises to help usher in the next generation of original interactive storytelling....

Dying Light developer Techland has rolled out yet more free content for the critically acclaimed parkour-flavoured zombie game, including a new Prison Heist mode. Set on Prison Island, the new mode tasks players with breaking into the compound’s armoury as fast as possible, and can be played on your own or with a mate in tow. Regardless, you’ll want to reach your objective sharpish, as the quicker you are the better your rewards....

I have a weird history with adventure games. While I kind of love them, I also kind of hate them. Constantly getting stuck while running face-first into illogical puzzles is simultaneously a beguiling mystery and intensely frustrating. Make no mistake, there’s no pointing and clicking and no item combining, but Echo Generation is very much an adventure game at its core. It has the aforementioned maddening puzzle solutions in spades, but I was joyously enraptured while playing it....
