We reported earlier today that Kickstarter backers of Shenmue 3 will be able to request refunds after all, as developer Ys Net reached an understanding with the Epic Games Store and Deep Silver. While the developer did also offer plenty of options for backers to redeem the games on PC and PlayStation 4, it will still allow refund requests at a later date. Now, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has taken to Twitter to affirm his commitment to cover the costs of all Kickstarter refunds of future exclusive games....

Sony’s September 2022 State of Play broadcast is over! In case you missed it, here’s everything Sony announced during its 20 minute show, from Tekken 8 to God of War Ragnarok - including all the trailers. Compile Heart revealed a brand new trailer of its upcoming JRPG Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord. The trailer reveals the opening cutscene of the game that mostly focuses on introducing the cast, alongside a look at some of the scenes included in the game. Two days ago the PlayStation Network made an oopsie and accidentally revealed the existence of Far Cry 6. During today’s Ubisoft Forward livestream, the publisher officially revealed the game starring Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian fame. The first thing we saw was a cinematic title sequence trailer, showing the cast. The opening is reminiscent of a Netflix show, come to think of it. You can almost see the “skip intro” button in the corner....

Square Enix has shared details on the latest update for Final Fantasy 14, confirming the patch will add a bunch of new quests for the popular online fantasy MMO. First up, the Stormblood narrative will continue with a bunch of new scenario missions, as well as fresh side quests and a 24-man Alliance Raid. On the more challenging side of things, Final Fantasy 14 players and moogle lovers will be able to tuck into a new trial and dungeon, a new Ultimate Difficulty Raid, plus additional Beast Tribe Quests, which focuses on the Disciples of the Hand and Land....

Nintendo has just announced Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, a musou spin-off of the popular Fire Emblem Three Houses. Firewatch has outsold Campo Santo’s “wildest expectations”, the developer has said, helping to secure the company’s future for “a while” to come. Two Point Studios has taken the bandages off the first gameplay video for medical simulator Two Point Hospital for your viewing pleasure. The footage offers a detailed glimpse at how the game will work, with two of the studio’s co-founders, Mark Webley and Ben Husky, taking us through the construction of the hospital as patients start to roll in. Forged Battalion, the real-time strategy outing from Petroglyph, is now available on Steam early access, Team17 announced. Cobbled together by veterans of Command & Conquer wizards Westwood Studios, Forged Battalion is hoping to make a splash by offering a ‘dynamic new take’ on the RTS genre. Inflexion Games and Improbable have revealed Nightingale, a survival crafting game with a “Victorian gaslamp fantasy setting” launching in 2022. The game promises to throw players into a “labyrinth of fantastical and perilous worlds in the wake of a magical cataclysm” where they must explore magical realms. In doing so, they’ll be trying to reach the last haven of humanity; the Nightingale of the game’s title. New sci-fi multiplayer shooter Disintegration is getting not one but two technical betas at the end of the month. There will be closed and open beta sessions for the new FPS on Xbox One, PS4, and PC via Steam. Anyone can sign up on the Disintegration website for a chance to get into the closed beta. Disintegration was announced in 2019 and has turned some heads with how it seems to blend old-school and modern FPS design....
