Doom will run at 1080p/60 frames per second on PS4, Xbox One and PC, id Software has confirmed. Speaking to Bethesda Blog, lead project programmer Billy Khan said: “We want players to wonder how DOOM and idTech 6 games can be so visually stunning at 60 frames-per-second at 1080p on all platforms, when other titles cannot even achieve a similar look at 30 frames-per-second. “Our goal is to be the best-looking game at 1080p at 60fps....
Piccolo is one of the most iconic and recognizable characters in the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Much of that is attributed to his distinct look, as a green-skinned fighter with a design that’s part reptile, part alien, and with an oddly Asian-themed (but still incredibly cool looking) turban and cape ensemble. It also helps that he’s one of the very few non-Saiyan characters to maintain relevancy. While Goku and pals continue to get more crazy hair colors and extra spikes added to their heads (guess where Super Sonic from Sonic the Hedgehog got its idea from), Piccolo has had the same exact look even after numerous fusions and power-ups....
Today was a very interesting day for Dragon Ball FighterZ. On the Dragon Ball FighterZ Show, we got out first look at the next DLC character for Season 3: Master Roshi. Techland has released the first episode of its AMA (Ask Me Anything) series for the upcoming Dying Light 2 game. According to the developer, it received over 9,000 submissions and have picked some of the most popular questions to answer this time around. Electronic Arts is reportedly pursuing acquisition and merger opportunities with “a number of different potential suitors”. “Several sources familiar with these talks say EA has been persistent in pursuing a sale, and has only grown more emboldened in the wake of the Microsoft-Activision deal. Others say that EA is primarily interested in a merger arrangement that would allow Wilson to remain as chief executive of the combined company.” Its unclear if a deal is currently in negotiation, but the reporter hinted that a deal with NBCUniversal had progressed the furthest, before breaking down last month after parties were unable to agree on structure or price....
EA and Maxis have officially announced that The Sims 4 will be released for both the PS4 and Xbox One on November 17, 2017. This confirms what the world already seemed to know after the game’s existence was ‘outed’ on the Microsoft Store a couple of days ago. The Sims 4 will deliver the same content as the PC version, which will enable players to create unique Sims, build homes, develop (and destroy) relationships and much more....

Today marks the first phase of 2018 updates to Elite Dangerous with the release of the Beyond – Chapter One open beta. This is the first step in showing players what’s coming and the beta includes the new Galnet Audio where the news is read out to players, new and improved trade data, and more challenging wing missions. Crime and punishment changes will also be in effect and players will also be able to take on missions that provide them with a choice of up to three different mission reward packages....
UPDATE 23/8/22: The AAA game whose development has been shifted to another studio is indeed the struggling Knights of the Old Republic remake, Bloomberg has reported. Originally begun at Aspyr, the project is now expected to be fully developed by one of Saber Interactive’s Eastern European studios. Aspyr had worked on the remake for around two years, though progress had reportedly not met the expectations of Star Wars owner Disney, or platform holder Sony....

The leaks just won’t end for Ubisoft, even as we approach Sunday’s E3-like Ubisoft Forward event. The PlayStation Network is the perpetrator of a Far Cry 6 leak, which came in the form of a premature listing. A cover image along with an accompanying description appeared on the Hong Kong version of the PlayStation Store earlier today. The page has since been removed, but it’s too little, too late. The cover art clearly displays actor Giancarlo Esposito, known for his role as Gus Fring in Breaking Bad, as the next Far Cry villain....
Farming Simulator 22 has had a longer development cycle compared to its predecessors. While developer Giants Software said that the decision to wait an additional year over the norm had to go with developing around the next-gen consoles, that doesn’t mean that PC users were shafted in the shuffle. Even if Merchant seems like an unlikely filmmaker to bring the story of WWE wrestler Paige to the big screen, that’s alright, because this is a terrific sports comedy about great things coming from unlikely places. That said, Saraya (Florence Pugh) comes from the wrestling-obsessed Bevis family, and she and her older brother Zak (Jack Lowden) have performed in the ring with their mum and dad (Lena Headey and Nick Frost) since she was 13 years old....
The September update to Final Fantasy XV has gone live, and it adds another new event, this time to Chapter 12. According to the game’s Twitter account, this new event will explain ‘the events that led to the War of the Astrals’. In FFXV the Astrals, also known as the Six, are huge immortal beings that were worshipped as gods. In the game the player, as protagonist Noctis, has to face their trials to form a covenant with them....
