WWE tried its best to get away with a pay-per-view that didn’t feature many of its main stars. It didn’t work. Elimination Chamber ran last night from Philadelphia, and the show was without Brock Lesnar and Goldberg, the two World Title holders, as well as Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre, the two wrestlers who will challenge for the world titles at WrestleMania next month. Edge and Randy Orton, who are in an intense personal feud for WrestleMania, weren’t on the card and neither was Becky Lynch, the RAW women’s champion, or Bayley, the SmackDown women’s champion....

Fans of Fable, it’s time to rejoice, for Fable is back. Just not as you probably wanted it to be. Fable Fortune has entered early access and Xbox (and Windows 10) game preview. The free-to-play collectible card game was delayed earlier this month, due to what was classed as an ‘administration error’. A week before the launch of Fallout 76, Bethesda released a massive patch that did some things. Many people were not happy about these things, namely because the update locked FPS and prevented FOV from going higher than 90. Ubisoft’s upcoming first-person-shooter Far Cry 6 might have had its release date leaked as coming out on or around May 26, if a listing on the Microsoft Store is anything to go by. The game—said to feature “Far Cry’s biggest playground yet”— was originally scheduled for a February 2021 release when it was first announced back in July, but was later pushed to the vague next fiscal year thanks to production challenges caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which could have put it any time after April 2021....

Following comments last week that Final Fantasy 16 was in the “final stages” of development, producer Naoki Yoshida has offered a further progress update, confirming, among other things, that a new trailer for the long-awaited JRPG is expected to release soon. Previously, Yoshida had told Uniqlo’s UT magazine - where he was featured to promote a new Final Fantasy t-shirt line - that Final Fantasy 16 was “in the final stages of development” and that the team hoped to deliver a “comprehensive” experience “full of story and gameplay”....

Square Enix has announced that fans will be able to acquire the second Ariana Grande-inspired character, Chic Ariana, in Final Fantasy Brave Exvius from August 18. In order to obtain this character, players must complete the first stage of the Musical Showdown event. But hurry, she’s only available until September 1. Players will also have the opportunity to battle an epic new boss, the Bard Spirit. Once they’ve beaten the Bard, players will gain special rewards and unlock event exclusive gear for their characters in the game....

Capcom has announced that Final Fantasy’s iconic Behemoth will be stomping its way into Monster Hunter World as part of a new crossover event next month. The Behemoth, as you’ve probably twigged, is a colossal beastie that needs a good kicking before he’s taken down. However, the reward for dispatching the creature is worth the hassle; you’ll bag yourself the Palico armour set, Drachen armour set and Gae Bolg insect glaive complete with Dragon Soul Kinsect....

Patch days for Final Fantasy XIV are always exciting, as they usually bring about plenty of new playable content for players to dive into. Today sees the release of patch 6.3, which not only continues the main story quests, but also continues the Myths of the Realm storyline where players can team up to take on 24-man Alliance Raids. The first piece of concept art for DICE’s upcoming shooter Star Wars Battlefront has been revealed. The artwork, which was posted by IGN last night, appears to show a level depicting the planet Endor and features two Rebel fighters taking cover behind a tree as an AT-ST fires its laser cannons. A pair of stormtroopers can also be seen running alongside the walker. The artwork follows a tease from EA earlier this week stating that more info on Star Wars Battlefront would be revealed “in the next couple of months”....

Dr Dre is reportedly working on music for a new Grand Theft Auto game, according to fellow rapper Snoop Dogg. The news comes from Rolling Stone (spotted by Video Games Chronicle), whom Snoop was talking to for an upcoming episode of their Music Now podcast. “I do know he’s in the studio,” he said. “I do know he’s making great fucking music. It appears the latest whisperings on Dragon Age 4 are good ones, as it’s being reported that it could be with us in 18 months. That’s according to Venturebeat’s Jeff Grub, who offered the latest updates on the RPG’s development on his Grubbsnax show. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, better known as E3, is reportedly set to return this year as a three day digital event later this summer.
