Facebook announces that it now owns Sanzaru Games. Bethesda has announced DOOM Eternal, the follow-up to its critically acclaimed gore-’em-up from 2016. Sadly all we got was a brief teaser trailer, although it certainly set the mood. Dota Underlords will emerge from Steam Early Access on February 25th. Welcome to the age of Autobattlers. Riot has their Teamfight Tactics, Epic has Auto Chess, and Valve has Dota Underlords, the Dota 2-based autobattler that traces its lineage to the original Auto Chess mod for Dota 2. Dota Underlords first arrived last summer to much fanfare and then proceeded into beta early access. From there, it’s been a string of content updates, balance passes, and bug fixes as the folks over at Valve get the game in fighting shape....

The producer on Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age has revealed that future entries in the series will only be localised for the west if this latest entry performs well. While the Dragon Age titles traditionally rake in favourable reviews from critics, it’s ultimately sales that will determine whether or not future games will see a US and UK release. ‘We need Dragon Quest to sell in the West, even just a certain amount, if we want to keep making [localized versions],’ Hokuto Okamoto told IGN....

It looks like you can play dress up in the upcoming Yakuza 7: Like A Dragon. Sega just released a bombshell announcement for Yakuza 7. Not only will you be able to play as the franchise’s new protagonist, Ichiban Kasuga, but you’ll also be able to play as previous protagonists too. Or at least as Kasuga dressed up as Kiryu. To be released as DLC, Yakuza 7 will get bonus costumes depending on where you buy the game....

Dying Light’s Season Pass is getting more expensive next month, Techland has said. From December 8, the price of the Season Pass will increase from £15.99 to £23.99 to reflect the game’s incoming expansion pack ‘The Following’, which will also be available to purchase individually for £15.99 at a later date. All Season Pass owners will be able to download The Following free of charge, regardless of whether they purchase it before or after the price hike....

The team behind the fantastic Burnout Paradise, Criterion, is now developing the next game in the Need for Speed series. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a reinvention of the previous Hot Pursuit game, and it brings a whole lot more to the cat-and-mouse gameplay. Once again, it’s time to either chase or be chased. The 25 or so minutes we had with the developers were a lot of fun. Criterion is a fantastic studio, and you can tell they have a great time making high-quality titles....

La Liga, Spain’s top football division, has entered “a one of a kind, multi-year partnership” with EA Sports. The league is home to some of the biggest football clubs in the world, such as Real Madrid and Barcelona. The sponsorship deal, which Marca reports will cost EA €30m euros a year, will include “title-naming rights for all La Liga competitions” and a “complete rebrand of La Liga with EA Sports including all logos, graphics, fonts and other visual elements”....
