For so many gamers around the world, the Final Fantasy franchise is the very last word when it comes to RPGs. Whether you’ve been a fan since the original release way back when, you hopped on board with the beloved Final Fantasy VII or you joined the fandom more recently, you’ve surely got your own favorite memories of the series. Favorite bosses, favorite characters and, of course, favorite couples. From the classic love stories that are overrated to the lesser-appreciated couples and even some that aren’t romantic relationships at all, here are some of our picks for the best (and worst) couples in Final Fantasy history....

Square Enix has released a new extended trailer showcasing some of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade’s PlayStation 5 enhancements and upgrades. The description of the trailer adds a bit of extra detail, confiming that the new version will allow for a Graphics Mode and Performance Mode with the latter focused on 4K visuals and the latter on silky smooth 60FPS action. Naturally, to show off these new features, the new version of the game also includes a Photo Mode so you can get snapping and share your favourite memories....

By this point, it’s no secret that about halfway through any of the necessary 16 playthroughs of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, there is a five-year time skip that impacts the story dramatically. As such, all of your students age up five years, which gives them all tweaks to their appearances that makes their teacher want to marry them… apparently. Truth is, many of the students needed a little chance to glo-up, it does them wonders....

Somewhat amazingly, a hack created over a year ago to jailbreak iOS 9.3 devices has been re-purposed to gain rudimentary access to the Nintendo Switch browser. iOS hacking group qwertyoruiop was the first to make use of the exploit present in the Webkit, used by Switch to provide simple HTTP support to gain access to WiFi networks which require registration. The exploit was later posted in video form by LiveOverflow....

Code Vein, the new IP from Bandai Namco which was teased a couple of weeks ago, has an announcement trailer. Called Bloodlust, it shows off some extremely bloody combat, with clawed hands being plunged into hearts. It confirms that Code Vein is coming in 2018. It also gives a glimpse of some of the backdrop for the game, a post-apocalyptic world with a hidden society of ‘Revenants’. Revenants exchange their memories for power, and a thirst for blood....

Today, Curve Games and IronOak Games announced the highly-anticipated sequel to the successful multi-platform franchise, For the King. Simply titled For the King II, this sequel combines the original game’s challenging blend of strategy, RPG combat, and roguelike elements with plenty of new features, including four-player co-op. You can check out the announcement trailer and an official description for the sequel right down below. For the King II is set to arrive on PC at some point in 2023....

Today, video game developer John Romero revealed that he’s working on a new FPS title and that his studio, Romero Games, is looking for “talented people for all positions and at all experience levels, particularly those with Unreal Engine 5 experience. It’s also important to note that the tweet states that the team is working with a “Major publisher,” though they don’t state which one. Romero is well-known in the video game industry, especially when it comes to the first-person shooter genre....

PC players will soon have a chance to build the castle of their dreams and then protect it from being besieged by slimes, as Dragon Quest Builders 2 will be coming to Steam in December. Dragon Quest Builders 2 follows the premise of the first game in the series, in which the worlds of the classic Dragon Quest titles have been devastated by monsters and the cities have been torn down....

“Kiki, I’m on Caffeine,” sings Drake as he pens a multi-year deal with an up-and-coming Twitch rival called Caffeine. Look out Ninja, Drizzy’s coming for your crown. Funded by 21st Century Fox, Caffeine launched just over two years ago with the goal of competing with Twitch in the live-streaming space. Caffeine is still dwarfed by Twitch in terms of viewership but supports a wider range of non-gaming, mobile-based content and hopes to become the go-to streaming service for content of all colors....

Hacking away at waves of enemies while trying to protect your base is a constant presence in gaming. I usually don’t bother with tower-defense games, but I like co-op action RPGs a lot, so Dungeon Defenders: Awakened met me halfway. It entered Early Access today, so there’s still a ways to go until it’s finished, even if a large amount is already in place. Wait, what is this? The original Dungeon Defenders released in 2011, followed by a free-to-play sequel in 2017....

While the E3 show floor was dominated by major releases like Battlefield 3, Gears Of War 3 and Mass Effect 3, there was also a strong indie presence on display. A glitch on the FIFA 20 Global Series registration page exposed thousands of players’ personal information, and Electronic Arts has taken down the site while it investigates what caused the breach (via Dexerto). Yesterday, EA began registrations for this season’s FIFA Global Series, the competitive side to the game that lets players qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup. The registration link was supplied to players but it appeared that something had gone wrong with the sign up....

Ahead of its launch next spring, EA has offered a first look at its previously announced “next generation” PGA Tour game for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
