EA has announced it’ll remove Russian and Belarusian teams from both FIFA 22 and NHL 22 amidst the ongoing Ukraine/Russia conflict. The publisher released a statement to both series’ official Twitter accounts. The FIFA statement read: “EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.” “In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports has initiated processes to remove the Russian National Team and all Russian clubs from EA Sports FIFA products including: FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online....

It seems safe to say that fans and critics did not take the new Saints Row reboot too kindly. Not only did players encounter numerous technical problems, but they also generally did not find the gameplay, story, or dialogue all that engaging. Lars Wingefors, the co-founder of developer Volition’s parent company Embracer Group, recently acknowledged the underwhelming performance of the new Saints Row, saying that he hoped the gaming public’s reception would have been more favorable than it was....

CCP Games has unveiled its 12-month development plan for Eve Online. “Commemorating the MMO’s landmark 20th anniversary throughout 2023”, CCP has plans to release two new expansions, launch Microsoft Excel integration in May for Omega subscribers, as well as usher in the Lunar New Year event, which goes live on 19th January. The expansions hope to “build upon the dynamic” narrative from Uprising, offering “fresh storylines, new features, and invigorating events around New Eden”....

2o2o is shaping up to be a good year for gamers given that the lineup of video games releasing in the first half of the year includes highly-anticipated titles such as the long-awaited remake of Resident Evil 3. Yesterday, Capcom released a brand new trailer along with new screenshots of Resident Evil 3 remake, which brought an exciting update for fans eagerly anticipating the game’s release in April. Although the newest Resident Evil 3 trailer is relatively short, it featured several details about the upcoming remake that are easy to miss at first glance....

Exit The Gungeon, the sequel to the very successful Enter the Gungeon, is out now on PC and Switch today (via PCGamesN). It was an Apple Arcade exclusive, like Sayonara Wild Hearts and Assemble with Care, but the game is available through Steam and the Nintendo Switch eShop with a load of new content. Exit the Gungeon 2.0 improves upon the iOS release, and offers new items like the Spiked Boots, new enemies like the Minecart Shotgun Kin, Bullet Cardinal, and Flying Fungun, and returning Jammed types for existing enemies....

Indie developer Exbleative has announced that sci-fi game Exo One will head to PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 this summer. The news came by way of the PlayStation Blog from the game’s creator Jay Weston. Having first launched last year for Xbox & PC, the game’s added some extra features for its PlayStation debut. These include support for 120fps framerates, & haptic feedback on the console’s DualSense controller. If you’re not familiar, Exo One is somewhat of a meditative game, with no timer or enemies....

Very few games can manage to wow me on my first playthrough, especially those from franchises or genres that I’ve hardly become familiar with, and yet F1 2020 managed to do just that. Today, the Bethesda blog detailed all of the Season 1 changes coming to Fallout 76 on June 30. The post teased some new items and cosmetics, but more importantly, it outlined how seasons will work in the game. Seasons are an overhaul of the daily and weekly rewards systems that were previously in place. Fallout 76 will implement seasonal content much like the battle passes we’ve grown used to in games like Fortnite....

Bethesda has staple-gunned a March launch window to Fallout 76’s upcoming PvP mode beta, Survival. You’ll still be able to play the post-apocalyptic RPG in its usual manner, known as Adventure, but if you want more of a challenge with fewer restrictions, then Survival is where it’s at. The good news is you don’t have to create a new character for Survival, but you can if you want to. If you import your character, then all your progress will carry over....

The game developers at Playfellow Studio agree and are now seeking to add to the theme with their latest indie release, Fisti-Fluffs. Disney has announced it’s hosting a game-focused digital showcase this September, with a “sneak peek” at Amy Hennig’s new Marvel game promising to be a highlight. The Disney & Marvel Games Showcase, which is running as part of this year’s D23 Expo, will be streamed on Friday, 9th September, at 9pm in the UK/1pm PT. It’s promising “all-new announcements” alongside additional details on previously revealed games. There’ll be more from Disney Dreamlight Valley, for instance, alongside additional news on Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and the recently delayed Marvel’s Midnight Suns....
