Bethesda and id Software have launched Doom Eternal‘s latest 6.66 update with a host of new features including Horde Mode. As detailed last week, the new Horde Mode puts our favourite Doom Slayer against the hordes of Hell in a high-score challenge. Techland has announced that Dying Light 2: Stay Human‘s planned cross-platform and cross-gen co-op won’t be available at launch. Though the game will be playable in co-op from almost start to finish (except the prologue) – you’ll only be able to play with friends who own the same type of console, for now. PC players will be able to play between Steam and the Epic Game Store with no problems, however, and Techland will be adding more cross platform at some point very soon....

Polygon reports that, at a panel at the 2017 Games for Change Festival, representatives from EA and Take Two made comments expressing that the policies of the Trump administration are harming the US games industry, rather than helping it. Craig Hagen, global head of government affairs at Electronic Arts, said that the industry is facing ‘a constant shortage of qualified, high-skilled labour’. The current US Administration made immigration a key part of its campaign during the election, and has just triggered a review of the H-1B visa....

Popular life simulator The Sims 4 has been made absolutely free for a week on PC and Mac via EA’s Origin service, the company has announced. As per the official game’s Twitter, anyone wanting to claim a copy of the game just has to either log in to their Origin client or visit the official website from now until May 28 to claim a free copy of the game at no cost....

If the game industry gives me just one last remaster before its remastering machines run dry, please let it be SSX Tricky.
