Felix Kjellberg, also known as PewDiePie, has signed an exclusivity agreement with YouTube to stream content only on its platform (via VG247). “YouTube has been my home for over a decade now and live streaming on the platform feels like a natural fit as I continue to look for new ways to create content and interact with fans worldwide,” said Kjellberg of the renewed partnership. “Live streaming is something I’m focusing a lot on in 2020 and beyond, so to be able to partner with YouTube and be at the forefront of new product features is special and exciting for the future....

EA Sports has finally made a major change to their FIFA franchise. It’s no secret they’re the top dogs for the beautiful game, but it’s also no secret that their weakness is their lack of customization. FIFA 11 is looking to change all that. FIFA 17 is on its way to EA and Origin Access later this month, EA has confirmed. Last year’s entry in the long-running football franchise will be available at no extra cost to those who hand over the $4.99 a month/$29.99 a year for either of Electronic Arts’ Xbox One or PC services. EA has released a new trailer for FIFA 18’s The Journey: Hunter Returns, which heralds the return of, wait for it… Alex Hunter. The minute and a half trailer shows off some of the new features making their way to this year’s iteration of the pretty decent story mode. DLSS support for DirectX 12 mode is coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator on PC “later this year”. Confirmation came via a recent developer Q&A. While members of the Asobo Studio development team stopped short of confirming when, precisely, DLSS will arrive for PC players, they did update us on what’s coming to the excellent flight sim game in the first half of 2022. The livestream also confirmed there’s going to be “several surprise add-on releases” later this year, as well as a new propeller simulation, including prop wash, for Cessna and King Air aircraft with Sim Update 8, which is expected to release on 1st March....

To Celebrate the traditional Dragon Age Day, BioWare and Netflix showcased new posters for the upcoming Dragon Age: Absolution animated series. The posters showcase eight of the characters that will appear in the series, Mirim, Hira, Qwydon, Fairbanks, Roland, Lacklon, Rezaren, and Tassia. The animated series announced a few weeks ago will come with six episodes of Dragon Age action and will debut in just a few days, on Dec. 9....

If you’re having trouble downloading Dying Light on PlayStation 4, don’t worry, you aren’t the only one. A bug currently affecting the game appears to prevent it from downloading directly via the PS4 PlayStation Store, with the game’s menu simply presenting players with a ‘Start’ button rather than the option to download. Attempting to download the game from the PS4 game library doesn’t appear to do anything, either. Until the issue is fixed, however, the PlayStation community has found a temporary solution that sees you forcing the game to download via an external device, such as the PS4 companion app....

Elden Ring has predictably topped the UK all-format boxed game chart this week, with the best launch sales of any FromSoftware game to date. Its sales total was just shy of the amount PlayStation exclusive Horizon Forbidden West managed last week. Sony’s blockbuster now sits in second place. Today, GamesIndustry.biz noted Elden Ring’s sales were up by 26 percent on 2016’s Dark Souls 3 - even though boxed game sales have fallen since then....

Krillbite Studio has today announced an Enhanced Edition of their 2014 first person horror Among the Sleep to be released as a free update for all PC, Linux and Mac owners of the existing game this Thursday via Steam. According to a post on the studio’s blog, the Enhanced Edition will feature improved graphics, new dialogue and even a whole new museum level that lets you explore behind the scenes of the main game, including a peek at the game’s ‘terrible’ (by the studio’s own admission) original ending....

Another “State of Play” stream is in the books and the results are a little mixed. While Sony is getting a little better at sneaking in some unexpected news, the streams still lack the personality and shock value of a Nintendo Direct. I will admit that the fakeout with Resident Evil Resistance did get me, though that’s mostly because I woke up well before I normally do.
