District 9 and Chappie director Neill Blomkamp has joined new studio Gunzilla Games to work on a AAA Multiplayer shooter, it’s been announced. As first reported by IGN, Blomkamp has joined the studio as its Chief Visionary Officer. In an interview given to IGN, he says he’ll be working with the team on the game’s design, audio, storytelling and more. “It comes from a place of bringing directorial skills that would be along the lines of the films that I’ve done before to the aesthetic of the game....

Today Bandai Namco announced the release date of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of its JRPG Dragon Ball Z Kakarot. The game will launch on current generation platforms on January 13, 2023. Those who already own the PS5 and Xbox One versions will be able to upgrade for free if they so wish. The composer of Duke Nukem 3D has sued Gearbox Software, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford, and Valve for copyright infringement (via PCGamer). Robert ‘Bobby’ Prince, the composer of Doom, Doom 2, Wolfenstein 3D and Duke Nukem 3D, claims that his music was included in Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour without his expressed permission. Consequently, Prince asked that Gearbox remove the music from the game, but it declined to do so....

E3’s live, in-person event appears to be unsurprisingly cancelled, according to LA city documents uncovered over the weekend. As reported by Video Games Chronicle, a report published by the Board of Los Angeles Convention and Tourism Development Commission—the body said to be working with E3 organisers on broadcast options for the event— have the formerly yearly show listed as a “cancelled live event.” It will mark the second year in a row that E3 hasn’t gone ahead following the event’s cancellation in 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic....
