The Evolution Championship Series has confirmed that it’s planning to go ahead with this year’s Evo 2020 fighting game tournaments despite the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the nation. The event is currently set to be held in Las Vegas from July 31 to Aug. 2. “At this time, Evo is moving forward with its plans to hold the event July 31-August 2, 2020 at Mandalay Bay (subject to its re-opening) but we are actively monitoring updates from the WHO, CDC, local governments, and public health agencies regarding COVID-19 and continuing to asses the situation,” Evo wrote on Twitter....

Of the plethora of MMORPG titles in development and coming out each year, there’s one based on a certain massive sci-fi franchise that many having be eagerly anticipating for quite some time. That of course, is Star Trek Online, set to release next February and marking Star Trek’s first entrance into the MMO genre. The Setup Hitman 2’s newest elusive target is actually a repeat from the previous Hitman game. The mission takes place in the ultra luxurious medical facility of Hokkaido. Our target is Ji-Hu, who is at the facility recovering from an unknown cosmetic surgery. Complete facial reconstruction is not out of the question, so it’s impossible to know exactly what the target will look like. This makes things a bit more challenging, as you must first find out what kind of operation Ji-Hu has undergone before we can identify him....

Square Enix has announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake has gone gold ahead of its launch on April 10 (via Push Square). Kazushige Nojima, Tetsuya Nomura, and Yoshinori Kitase, were the original writer, character designer, and director of Final Fantasy VII, respectively. All three were keen to remake the game from 1997 before the opportunity presented itself, and all three were keen to return to their roles as they felt that giving the game to the new generation wouldn’t be proper....

Yoshida-san explained in no uncertain wording that Final Fantasy XIV will not include NFT, so fans can rest at ease. Based on how Final Fantasy XIV is designed, NFT won’t be implemented, even if Yoshida-san mentioned that he has some interest in the topic and he could talk about it more in-depth if he gets to speak in an interview that has nothing to do with XIV....

On January 9 Enchantress will join the Injustice 2 roster for anyone who picked up Fighter Pack 3 or the Ultimate Edition of Injustice 2. It looks like there are Terminators everywhere in the gaming world at the moment. There have been Terminators appearing in games like Mortal Kombat 11, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Gears 5 to build up hype for the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate movie which is set to launch on November 1. However, the franchise is also getting its own game next month called Terminator: Resistance, which is a first-person shooter developed in the Unreal engine....

Scott Cawthon, creator of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series of games, has announced his retirement just days after he came under fire over past donations to controversial political candidates. In a statement posted to his website, Cawthon said “Here on the seventh anniversary of the first game’s trailer as I realise that I was in my mid-30s when I created the series and now I’m approaching my mid-40s, I realise that I miss a lot of things that I got to focus on before FNAF became such a success....

Yesterday there were unconfirmed reports that BioWare was working on an expansion for Dragon Age: Origins and today those reports have been confirmed. According to a press release from EA, Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening will take place in a new area of the Dragon Age: Origins world known as Amaranthine. Players will embark on a quest to discover the true motivation of the darkspawn and unravel the mystery of how the darkspawn continue to infest the world despite the defeat of the Archdemon....

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s release date is just days away, but before players are able to jump into this highly-anticipated new title, they will first need to install a somewhat significant patch. Indeed, there is a Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot day one update, Patch 1.02, that clocks in at a sizable 11GB. A Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot voice actor has confirmed that the Buu Saga will be included in the new action role-playing Dragon Ball Z game, in an interview with ComicBook.com (via GameRant). Earlier this month, the English voice actor for Goku, Sean Schemmel, spoke to the site about what fans can expect from the new entry into the series. ‘Kakarot is coming out in early 2020.
