Don Cheadle was accepted as the MCU’s War Machine faster than you can say “Terrence who?” and it turns out that he originally had to accept the role pretty damn quickly, too. The Black Monday actor and prolific Twitter ass kicker stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers this week to chat about all sorts of things, but it was hard not to focus on the revelation that he was given just one hour to decide if he wanted to take over the part of James ‘WARMACHINEROX with an X, all caps’ Rhodes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with Jon Favreau’s Iron Man 2....

Nintendo has revealed this month’s NES games coming to Nintendo Switch Online as part of the subscription service next week, as well as a new Rewind feature you’ll be able to use on all games on the service going forward. Donkey Kong 3 and Wrecking Crew both land on July 17, and the former sees ol’ DK terrorising some greenhouses, while you play as Stanley armed with a pesticide gun and, in a reverse of the classic formula, must chase the titular monkey up the levels....

Some games are much more than the sums of their parts. Double Cross has some decent aspirations, but it ultimately feels like a bit of a letdown. Overall, it contains enough of a hook to keep me engaged, but it wasn’t enough to keep me from walking away a little disappointed. Double Cross‘ narrative is one of the best things about it. It has a Saturday morning cartoon vibe that it pulls off nicely....

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment promised that it will be one of the most in-depth tellings of Goku’s story to ever grace a video game, and thus far, there has been little reason to doubt this. Obviously, it includes the big moments of every major saga, but it also includes moments so small that they are easily skipped in most games. For example, the Farmer with a Shotgun Raditz meets when he arrived on Earth is in the game, as well as mini-games based on Goku’s appetite and Gohan’s baseball games....

In a tweet this morning, Nier: Automata and Bayonetta developers PlatinumGames revealed what the studio may be working on next. That game may be the next project from Nier creator Yoko Taro. The tweet suggests that Platinum will be developing Drakengard 4, the next in Yoko Taro’s long-running fantasy RPG franchise. The original Drakengard title was a PS2 game, the first game that Yoko Taro directed. The game, and its two sequels, were all published by Square Enix, who also published his second series Nier....

I wasn’t expecting to find out that DX Racer made a mesh gaming chair. Mesh isn’t even remotely on my radar when it comes to the usual lineup of race car seat wannabe office chairs. I’ve been using a DX Racer Air chair for a couple of weeks now, and I’m mostly satisfied by it. The construction is undeniably high quality, it has all of the usual features, plus it stands apart from the rest of the pack due to how much like a normal office chair it is....

Details surrounding THQ and Volition’s new game, Red Faction: Armageddon, have been surfacing since the beginning of the month. Being that it’s E3 and all, we’ve come across some new information. First off is a trailer, which was released a little while back, showing the premise and setting of the new title. It really reinforces the feeling that this game will be a beautiful blend of the original games and Red Faction: Guerrilla....

THQ took time to show off some of what they have in store for UFC Undisputed 3 at this year’s E3. With the game set for a 2012 release they still have a lot of time to tune, tweak, and finish up the game - but what they were showing already looked impressive. It is nice to see a sports game getting off the yearly cycle in order to focus on making a quality title....

This year’s E3 has given birth to many exciting announcements, but arguably none were more anticipated than Nintendo’s follow-up to the Wii. Now that we know more about the Wii U and have seen the new controller in action, it’s time for developers to show us what they have planned for the console. Ubisoft is leading the pack much like they did with Nintendo’s 3DS, and have announced Killer Freaks From Outer Space as a launch title for Wii U....

FromSoftware has just released the long-awaited patch 1.04 for Elden Ring. Patch 1.04 includes significant changes for Elden Ring, such as buffs to Colossal weapons and some magic. Some of these upfront alterations include a new option to toggle between the camera auto-rotating or not, as well as some new event phases for the Patches questline. Although, we do not know what has been added to the Patches quest specifically....

The Britsh Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced that it’s giving a BAFTA Special Award to Fortnite and Unreal Engine developer Epic Games next month. The award will be accepted by CEO Tim Sweeney at a presentation to take place at The London West Hollywood hotel in LA as per the announcement on the BAFTA website. Previous winners of the Special Award include Nolan North, Amy Hennig and Brenda Romero....

Bethesda has teamed up with Carlsberg UK create a new beer inspired by Vault-Tec Industries and the Fallout franchise. The beer has been brewed using a unique blend of malted barleys combined with selected hops to create a “light coloured pilsner lager, with a refreshing zesty hoppy taste and a floral aroma”.
