Earlier today during the D23 Disney and Marvel games showcase, the voice actor of main character, Guybush Threepwood (Dominic Armato), shared some new details about the upcoming title, Return to Monkey Island. At the start of the trailer, Armato goes into detail on the history of the Monkey Island series. He explained that although the title sounds like the game is about monkeys, it is in fact a pirate adventure that started with the Secret of Monkey Island all the way back in 1990....

Donut County, a physics-based game about sinkholes, is releasing next month. Publisher Annapurna Interactive announced an official Donut County release date alongside an adorable trailer earlier today. It’s coming to PC, PS4, and the iOS App Store on August 28. The game costs $12.99. Best described as a “reverse Katamari,” Donut County puts players in the role of an all-consuming sinkhole. You’ll complete levels by pulling objects into the hole, combining them, and spitting them back out....
Relaxing strategy game Dorfromantik will finally receive a full release exactly one year after launching in early access. Over the past year, indie studio Toukana Interactive has made a number of tweaks to the game, most recently adding an undo button that was heavily requested by players. Other additions include new biomes (Halloween and winter), as well as a creative mode. The game began as a project by four students during their studies and has gone on to receive multiple awards, including Best Game at the German Developer Awards....

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann says HBO’s The Last of Us TV show “will be the best, most authentic game adaptation”. In an interview with the New Yorker (thanks, Comicbook), Druckmann said he hoped that the show will “put that video-game curse to bed”, although screenwriter Craig Mazin acknowledged that it’s “not the highest bar in the world” to become a great adaptation given some games, like Assassin’s Creed, have “impenetrable” storylines....

Techland’s anticipated sequel, Dying Light 2, has endured a number of delays during its development, and while the game is still very much locked in for its launch early next month, one of its versions won’t be ready on time. Add another convention cancellation to the list of inconveniences caused by coronavirus. Concerns over the outbreak of novel virus COVID-2019, commonly known as coronavirus, have scuttled the annual festival celebrating MMO space corporation simulator EVE Online. The cancellation was announced yesterday, February 28, via a statement by the game’s developer CCP. The festival would have taken place from April 2 to 4 in Reykjavik, Iceland, the home base of CCP.
