Double Fine, the developer of some of the quirkiest games that ever quirked, announced today that its upcoming game Rad will hit PC via Steam this August. The developer has partnered with Bandai Namco to publish the game. This is the first time the two companies joined forces. Rad is a 3D action roguelike, where only the most mutated can survive. The game is described as taking place in a post-post-apocalyptic future, which means its poor denizens have seen the end of the world twice already....

Media Molecule’s Dreams has been rated by the Australian Classification Board, suggesting that the game is getting closer to an actual release (via PlayStation LifeStyle). Dreams is a sandbox content creation engine for the PlayStation 4. Sony is enamoured with its potential and the creative community that has grown from the year it has spent in early access. There are tonnes of tutorials for how to use Dreams to make music, form branching dialogue systems, and how to pick and choose from a catalogue of community-created assets....

Another of The Game Awards 2019’s potential announcements may have just been hinted at on social media, by none other than Dungeons & Dragons publisher Wizards of the Coast. The annual award show’s producer, Geoff Keighley, has already confirmed that The Game Awards 2019 will feature around 10 new game reveals. Those reveals have been left mysterious, but are being hinted at in the leadup to the event. Wizards of the Coast is providing one such hint....

Dying Light 2 was first announced at E3 2018 by industry veteran Chris Avellone. He is a narrative designer in this sequel to the first-person parkour adventure in a zombie apocalypse released in 2015. The Polish developer Techland has been developing the game further since then, and at this year’s E3, they announced a spring 2020 release window. Today, GamesIndustry.biz published a comprehensive interview with Techland’s lead designer Tymon Smektala, and the interview covers many subjects, from Techland’s growth to Poland’s place in the game development industry....

Hit space sim Elite Dangerous is heading to PS4 in Q2 2017, Frontier has announced. The game had previously been exclusive to Xbox One and PC. The PS4 version introduces brand new touch controls that let players navigate a map of the Milky Way using the DualShock 4’s touchpad, and use the touchpad to customise four additional hotkeys. There’s support for PS4 Pro, too, which will offer Pro players “enhanced performance throughout Elite Dangerous”, while the DualShock 4’s motion controls can be used to quickly track players during combat....

A Mario fan has used Super Mario Maker 2 to create a whole game inspired by the classic Mario games. Twitter user MetroidMike64 spent seven years working on his Super World, which he has unofficially named Super Mario Bros. 5, and uploaded the finished product online yesterday. MetroidMike64 began creating levels in 2015 using Super Mario Maker on the Wii U, and had always intended for them to be part of a larger game....

Today Electronic Arts officially announced that the ultra-popular FIFA franchise of soccer games has a new name. The franchise will be renamed EA Sports FC starting next year following the end of the partnership with FIFA, the governing body of association soccer (or football, if you’re in Europe). That being said, there will be one more FIFA game before this happens. The announcement comes as no surprise considering that the partnership had been on shaky foundations for a while, but Electronic Arts mentions that the next game will still include over 300 license partners across the sport....

The first gameplay trailer for LEGO Jurassic World has been released alongside a series of new screens. The trailer features a number of iconic moments from the motion picture series, all given the LEGO treatment. LEGO Jurassic World features the storylines of Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic Park 3 and this summer’s Jurassic World. The game will launch in June for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, 3DS, Vita and PC....

E3 2017 was packed with new announcements, and one of the standouts was BioWare’s Anthem. Now, with the reveal that you can pick the texture or material on each part of your character, it’s looking even better. In a recent live stream, employees from the dev team showed off the actual creation process. Just remember that the game is still in its alpha phase, so it does still need plenty of work....

Monster Hunter Rise is an action RPG that was originally released in March 2021. With an immersive story and boundless side quests, there are only little things that Capcom has done wrong here. However, players are reportedly facing an issue where they are unable to join quest sessions. Moreover, this error is known to mostly affect Xbox and PC players. It is very annoying since many players can’t seem to enjoy the online gameplay with their friends....

The elusive “B Site” league has officially been announced as FLASHPOINT, a new, team-owned CS:GO tournament circuit produced by FACEIT. The league takes on a unique format, with ten teams buying-in as founding members. FLASHPOINT will offer over $2 million in prize money across two seasons in 2020, with the inaugural season set to begin in March. Cloud9, MIBR, Dignitas, Gen.G, c0ntact, and MAD Lions are the six teams confirmed to join FLASHPOINT as founding members, with four more partnered teams yet to be revealed....

The fate character of Kino Loy in Star Wars: Andor, brilliantly portrayed by Andy Serkis at the end of Episode 10, is unknown. We know that all the escaping prisoners jump off the top level into the water below, and Kino remains behind, telling Andor, “Can’t swim.” Andor is promptly pushed and falls into the water, and we do not see Kino again. The Big Update is going to bring about a lot of change to Valve’s Dota Underlords. There’s a ton of new content coming, including new heroes and new alliances. Back in October, BioWare revealed that its upcoming RPG Dragon Age: Dreadwolf had finally reached its Alpha phase. With the game now playable from start to finish, the developer ensured that it would unveil more concrete details in the future. BioWare General Manager Gary McKay expressed a particular interest in unveiling the game’s characters, his personal favorite aspect of the game.
