Fable Legends will be free-to-play on Xbox One and Windows 10, Microsoft has announced. To play on Xbox One you’ll need Xbox Live Gold, but everyone with Windows 10 will be able to play. As previously announced PC and Xbox One versions will be cross-play compatible. Lionhead promises that Legends really will be free-to-play, and not pay-to-win. “You’ll be able to play Fable Legends from beginning-to-end without spending a penny. That means you’ll have access to the entirety of Fable Legends’ storyline and all of the quests we release this year and forever,” explains the studio in a blog post....

Shenmue 3 is a game that many fans assumed would never happen. Due to the financial struggles of the first two games in the series, it seemed as though the Shenmue franchise would never have the chance to finish its story, but then Sony shocked the world by announcing Shenmue 3 at E3 2015. The game then smashed Kickstarter records, secured some extra funding with a publisher, and after some delays, finally released worldwide on PC and PS4 just a few days ago....

Over the years, there have been many Star Wars characters that have come and gone, with some managing to gain more of a foothold than others, even despite not being a main character. According to sales data published by the NPD Group, 2K’s BioShock 2, the follow-up to the acclaimed first-person shooter from 2K Boston (Irrational Games), sold over 750,000 units across the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in the US during February (tracked January 31 through February 27). EA has finally detailed the free World Cup update set to hit FIFA 23 on 9th November. The update hits FIFA 23 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - but Nintendo Switch is not on the list. Final Fantasy VII Remake will now be a PlayStation exclusive title until April 10, 2021, instead of the originally stated March 3, 2021 (via Siliconera). This is to be expected. The latest Final Fantasy XIV Live Letter from the Producer has just hit, and it contained a full six hours of Endwalker-related livestream-y goodness. I’ve done my best to condense those six hours into this ridiculous mega-post. The main focus of the Live Letter was on job actions — or, to put it another way, on how the existing jobs/classes are changing when they move into Endwalker. The first ever PS4 Anniversary Edition console sold for a whopping £86,000 at a charity auction in Japan. The console launched in December sporting a PSOne-style grey paint job, with only 12,300 units ever produced. Model ‘00001/12300’ sold at an auction held by Sony Corp. with a winning bid of 15.135 million yen (which equates to roughly £85423.12). “We appreciate all who participated in the auction and are surprised at the highest bid price, which was higher than our expectations,” a Sony representative told the Wall Street Journal....
