Capturing high-quality footage and streaming from a PC or console has gotten much easier in recent years. That said, there aren’t a lot of options for getting top-quality 4K footage at 60 FPS. Enter the Elgato 4K60 S+, the company’s latest entry in the consumer gaming video market. This product was provided by Corsair for the purpose of this review. 4K footage has been a particular struggle for most game capture and streaming setups....

Playing games on PC gives us a few things unique to the platform. We have mouse and keyboard controls, more in-game graphics options, and of course, a ton of free games. The Epic Games versus Apple court case has come to a close over the weekend, but neither side were able to claim a divisive victory. As detailed by GamesIndustry.biz, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez sided with Fortnite developer Epic on one of the ten counts it held against Apple. Namely, that the company’s restrictions against apps being able to direct to external payment options was in violation of unfair competition laws. Therefore, Apple is no longer allowed to stop apps from directing people to external sites circumventing the Apple Store’s cut for in-game purchases from December 9....

Before they were making headlines and raking in millions of dollars, players like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins sat at the top of a niche market, known only by those that closely followed the nascent arena of eSports. Bethesda’s grand new multiplayer take on the traditional Fallout formula has done nothing but go downhill since it’s November 14th launch, and that trend isn’t likely to be reversed any time soon… if at all. One dedicated Fallout fan has created their own, playable, version of Bethesda’s games out of Lego. Made by ThrillDaWill (via PCGamesN), this project, known as L3go Fallout, is truly a sight to behold. It comes with its own character creator and, of course, a wasteland to explore. We’re yet to see the full force of Nintendo’s Pokemon Sun and Moon marketing, but we’re pretty sure it won’t come close to pulling the same number of heart strings as this fan made trailer from John Wikstrom. “This is an independently produced spec based on the Pokémon franchise, created with nothing but love,” notes the video blurb. “Please support the official releases.” A poke around on the YouTube channel also reveals this tearjerker from earlier in the year, about the loss of a father and the joy a video game can bring....

FaZe Jarvis, the Fortnite streamer who was permanently banned from the game after he decided to use an aimbot and post the video online, has now released a music video about the experience. It’s not really worth the three minutes it takes to watch, but it sure is an… experience? The heavily-autotuned video doesn’t really seem to have a purpose other than to provide a way for Jarvis to talk about how much money he makes, how good he is at Fortnite, and to simply acknowledge the fact that he got banned....

Along with a bunch of other media folks, I’ve had the privilege of spending a day messing around with Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, and now I’m free to tell you all about it. Square Enix released the trailer and release date of the upcoming update for Final Fantasy XIV numbered 6.2 and titled “Buried Memory.” The much-awaited update will release on August 23. The trailer showcases the story and features included in the update, and as usual, it could be considered a bit spoiler-y. The launch of Overwatch 2 hasn’t been going as smoothly as planned by Blizzard due to numerous issues. But that being said, several players using controllers simply need the Aim assist feature. Several FPS video games feature this setting. While PC players have the luxury to pinpoint and target their opponents, it is a bit of a hassle for console players. Dragon Ball Z is an absolutely ridiculous show in the best possible way, living on spectacle, offering up a chance to take part in what essentially amounts to a soap opera with aliens. It is crazy how many people watch it just to see how ridiculous it will manage to get. One of the crazy things about it is the way that it continues to up the power of the characters, throwing newer and newer transformations at them, trying to see how many they can put in front of the audience before they get bored of what they’re being shown....

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has been around for six years, but this won’t discourage Bandai Namco from releasing new DLC. New content simply named “DLC Pack 1” is coming to the veteran anime game this fall, featuring Gamma 2 from the new movie Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Today Bandai Namco released a new trailer showing the Red Ribbon Army android in action. You can check it out below. If you think this is pretty crazy considering that the game was released in October 2016, I certainly won’t blame you, but Dragon Ball has been around for a long time, so I supposed that Bandai Namco is basing the apparently immortal support to Xenoverse 2 on the longevity of the anime....
