In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, Harvey Smith, the creative director at Arkane Studios and a director on Dishonored and Dishonored 2, has spoken about world building and writing in games, saying ‘Lots of people have done elves and dwarves. Fuck that.’ Smith’s swearily passionate comment is specifically in reference to how, particularly in the Dishonored series, Arkane is striving to build a fantasy world that’s also familiar, but without retreading on what’s already out there....

Ophelia, AKA Thanatos, was just released in Dislyte, but Farlight Games has wasted no time in teasing their next 5-star addition to the roster. Zeus was actually leaked very early on in the game’s life cycle, and it looks like we’ll finally get to see him in action in the next update. Titled Static Shock, this update will see in the introduction of Zeus, known in-game as Gaius, as well as 4-star Inferno Esper Magni, and 4-star Wind Esper Vermillion Bird....

Bandai Namco has announced three new fighterzs that have been added to the ever-growing Dragon Ball FighterZ roster. Adult Gohan, Kid Buu, and Gotenks will be playable from the game’s launch next year. You can get your first look of Gotenks in action in the trailer below, which shows off the character’s patented Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack. Guilty Gear and Arc System’s upcoming fighter is scheduled to release on January 26, 2018, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One....

Media Molecule has confirmed that its create ‘em up Dreams has gone gold ahead of its release on February 14, 2020 (via Reddit). We saw a few signs that Dreams might be ready to spread its wings to launch, and Media Molecule then revealed that it would be released on February 14, 2020. The Entertainment Software Association has revealed its plans for E3 2020, which be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 9-11. Tickets go on sale on Feb. 15. at 11 am ET and can be purchased here. Two different tiers of badges will be offered for this year’s show. Gamer Badges, which give the general public access to the expo on June 10-11, will cost $165 per attendee. The Premium Badge, which comes with “exclusive benefits” and gives you access to all three days of the convention, will set you back $995....

EA is dragging the Belgium government to court so they can keep selling loot boxes in FIFA 18 and FIFA 19. When Belgium announced that loot boxes constituted gambling and were thus illegal in their country, most game developers removed their loot boxes without issue. Some, such as 2K Games, issued a statement saying they disagreed with the decision and called on Belgian gamers to revolt against their government. EA has urged Skate fans not to download the cracked playtest for Skate 4 that is currently out in the wild. The closed playtest for Skate 4 went down very well with people generally. However, someone was able to hack the playtest and circulate it online, for anyone to download. Mobile game eFootball PES 2021 relaunches as eFootball 2022 on 2nd June, Konami has announced. The heavily-delayed mobile version of the embattled eFootball 2022 arrives eight months after eFootball 2022 first launched and was widely panned. Also on 2nd June, the 1.1.0 update for eFootball 2022 on PC and console comes out - the first update since season one launched in April. “Too little, too late,” was Eurogamer’s verdict. Konami was vague about what these updates actually do - in a tweet the company said the new mobile game update includes “new gameplay” and Dream Team....

The next free games in the Epic Games Store have been revealed. This time, two games will be available on March 5, 2019.
