Let me preface this Dolmen review by saying how much I love Souls-like games. They have an air of mystery, all the while presenting opportunities to tackle insurmountable challenges. More often than not, you’d roam around interconnected levels in search of a new discovery. You’d come up with builds, both broken and silly, as you feel the pulse-pounding intensity of combat. Sadly, Dolmen, which is set to release tomorrow, falters in almost every respect....
Next week, Valve will host the 2019 Dota 2 International Tournament in Shanghai. Valve set the event location a year ago, but in the wake of Hong Kong’s political protests, fans have taken to spamming the event’s Twitch chat (note: China banned Twitch last year) with support for the protestors in Hong Kong. Since June, protestors have taken to the streets of Hong Kong to push back against a proposed bill that would allow the government of Hong King to deport residents and foreigners to China....
Guy Beahm IV, the man behind Dr Disrespect, broke character while streaming Counter Strike: Global Offensive on Twitch. At the time, he was playing with fellow streamer CouRageJD – when both devolved into fits of laughter during an “intense” match. After identifying the approximate location of their opponents, The Doc attempts to “flash” them with a grenade, but throws it to short and blinds the pair instead. Unfazed, CouRage decides to try again with another flash-bang, but Dr Disrespect looks directly at it, again blinding his character and causing him to snicker for a moment....
One thing I could say I wasn’t a huge fan of for Dragon Age: Origins was the artwork. While it wasn’t horrible, it did possess a slight generic fantasy feeling, which made some cutscenes in the game lose a lot of their impact because I was too busy thinking “how many townsfolk look like one another?” BioWare is set to repair that problem by creating a more distinct artistic flair for Dragon Age 2....
Dying Light 2 Stay Human getting even more fixes soon. Announced in a post on the game’s official Twitter account, fixes will be arriving ‘in the coming days.’ While this isn’t exactly a solid date by any means, it’s good to know that some of the title’s problems are going to be addressed soon. Previously, the developer released a patch addressing more than 1,000 bugs. It looks like there’s still a building to climb....
In a recent interview with Wccftech, Techland’s Chief Technology Officer PaweÅ‚ Rohleder confirmed that Dying Light 2 will be a cross-generation title. Dying Light 2 is set for an early 2020 launch on PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, which coincidentally aligns with what we know at the moment about the next-generation of hardware. When asked about the possibility of a cross-generational release, Rohleder said yes: ‘the plan since the beginning of production has been to make Dying Light 2 a cross-generation title....
We were first introduced to DUST 514 at the CCP fanfest in 2009. CCP’s vast ambitions with this first-person shooter set in the EVE Online universe were impressive to say the least. The implications of a console shooter having long terms effects on a PC MMO is unheard of, and despite CCP lacking a prolific history, the quality of EVE Online is unquestionable. We have now seen multiple trailers for the game, but the information on actual gameplay has been limited....

Namco Bandai’s Inversion is a game that could easily be overlooked, but definitely deserves gamers’ attention. Inversion is a third-person shooter developed around the idea of manipulating gravity and dealing with the residual effects....
Hold on to your scimitars, Spirit Monks, because Jade Empire is about to re-enter the gaming world. Maybe. EA just filed a new trademark for the hit BioWare game. This could mean a long-awaited Jade Empire sequel is on the way. Or it could just mean a remaster of the first one. It could also just be that EA is protecting its assets. The possibilities are endless, as are the chances for disappointment....
EA has announced a new release window for upcoming golf game EA Sports PGA Tour, with the title now set for Spring 2023. The game was first announced this time last year, given a vague release window of Spring 2022. However, back in November of last year, EA confirmed the game was delayed for an indefinite amount of time. Now they’re calling a Mulligan, as the game will take another year to be ready for the fairways....

Epic Games is once again stirring up controversy with its mere existence. However, this time the Epic Games Store isn’t the center of attention, but rather the Epic Online Services (EOS) initiative. Epic calls EOS “a suite of cross-platform game services—originally developed for use in Fortnite—that will be made available to the entire game developer community,” and includes features like a game ticketing and analytics system. Upcoming features like cross-platform achievements, trophies, and voice communications were reported via Epic’s official roadmap and were reportedly in the works for a Q4 2019 release....

Today Capcom provided another extended look at its upcoming dinosaur shooter Exoprimal. The gameplay is split in two videos. The first breaks down the gameplay, explaining pretty much everything we see, from character selection to the various enemies we encounter. Unfortunately, the explanation is entirely in Japanese. The second video showcases a co-op mission without interrupting. The gameplay was recorded from the closed beta build, which still has two sessions to go on July 25 and August 7....
Fairy Tail, a manga which spawned sixty-three volumes and an anime that has been going on over nine years, is getting an action JRPG courtesy of GUST Studios with a slated to arrive time on the PS4 sometime in 2020. Hiro Mashima, the creator of Fairy Tail, had his first issue published on August 2, 2006, and it didn’t take long for the manga’s popularity to rise, with it becoming the eight best-selling manga series in Japan in 2009....
