eBay UK has announced that it’s launching its own dedicated video games store. This venture will be branded The Entertainment Shop, and will be a ‘curated on-site destination’ for new and pre-owned games. It’ll also sell music, movies and books. Just like HMV does. As part of this new venture, eBay’s encouraging booksellers, publishers and video games outlets to list more new releases for sale as third party retailers. This venture is in response to a growing interest from customers in finding bargains....

Elden Ring earned the biggest non-FIFA or Call of Duty video game launch in the UK since Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018. For a more recent comparison, its launch sales figures were 2.5 times greater than those of Horizon Forbidden West’s, according to data from GSD (via Gamesindustry.biz). At last night’s Spike Video Game Awards, Bethesda Softworks pulled out what may have been the only true surprise announcement of the night by revealing the first teaser trailer and release date for the next entry in the Elder Scrolls series. Titled Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the next entry into Bethesda’s fantasy series to fall in line with the other powerful success record of Bethesda’s history of RPG titles. Though the Skyrim trailer contained no real footage to speak of, the real question is what type of game experience will Skyrim offer?...

Codemasters is pressing on with the gradual drip-feeding of content for its upcoming F1 2017 release in August. Today it’s revealed another short trailer which completes its unveiling of classic cars that will feature in F1 2017, focusing on four McLaren cars from F1 history. Get excited, unless you’re a Brawn GP fan. This short reveal shows four historic McLaren cars, and not much else, really. Unless you’re a long-time fan of the sport, the significance of these reveals won’t really get you going....

New raids are finally being added to Fallout 76, and, thankfully, we’re summing up everything you need to know about them. New vaults have been added to Fallout 76 since it launched, but players were previously unable to access anything past the giant vault doors. So far, players have only been able to enter Vault 51, which was opened up when Fallout 76’s Nuclear Winter battle royale mode was released. Now, Vault 94 is opening up for new Vault Raid missions, which are high-level team raids....

Far Cry 6 has been confirmed by Ubisoft after the surprise was spoiled by a PlayStation Store Hong Kong listing ahead of its official reveal during Ubisoft Forward. Far Cry 6 will take place on the fictional island of Yara. It will follow a young soldier named Dani Rojas who will fight against Yara’s dictator, Anton Castillo (notably played by Breaking Bad‘s Giancarlo Esposito). The game’s cover shows Castillo standing with his hands on the shoulder of a young boy who appears to be his son (and eventual successor), Diego....

Fight Crab, a fighting game about crabs, will arrive on the Nintendo Switch on August 20 in Japan (via Nintendo Life). As well as wielding those mighty claws, players will have access to an armory of “40 tactical weapons and items,” from chainsaws, to lightsabers, to revolvers. “Create your own play-style and unique moves by utilizing the physics of your surroundings, and the unique movement style of each species of crab,” read the new listing on Play-Asia....

Today has been a fantastic one for fans following Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It’s featured one of the biggest news dumps for the game to date. Square Enix dropped a whopping 25 new screenshots with accompanying descriptions and even mentioned that part 2 of Remake was already in the works. Now, on the heels of all of that, players can expect to tackle new boss battles that never made appearances in the original game....
