Since the JRPG’s announcement, Square Enix has released a stream of screenshots and gameplay footage easily compared to memorable scenes and sequences from the original game. Today, Square Enix continued that effort in an especially poignant way, releasing a recreation of what’s perhaps Final Fantasy 7’s most iconic piece of art....

PEGI has rated Doom 64 for PlayStation 4 and PC in a now deleted listing, as spotted by Gematsu. As Doom, Doom 2 and Doom 3 have now been re-released on Playstation 4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, this might be another surprise planned by id Software and Bethesda for their long-time fans. Doom 64 was, as the name suggests, exclusive to Nintendo 64 and developed by Midway. Released in 1997, its story followed on the conclusion of Doom 2 and took advantage of the N64’s graphic capabilities and an atmospheric soundtrack to take the series in a distinctly horror direction....

Because 2020 is a leap year, gamers have to wait an entire extra day to get their hands on id Software’s Doom Eternal on March 20. Those interested parties who keep a highly optimized PC setup can apparently expect an insane performance from the studio’s proprietary game engine id Tech 7, which reportedly will max the game out at 1,000 frames-per-second. Billy Khan, id Software’s lead engine programmer, talked about the capabilities of id Tech 7 in a video interview regarding Doom Eternal which was published by IGN Friday....

Dragon City originally was launched for FaceBook from which it was brought to Android and iOS platforms and on Windows more recently. The game features you as a Dragon Master, your goal is to raise dragons and design a dragon-filled city on a floating island. Once you level up your Dragons you can use them for battle. Square Enix announced today that a Dragon Quest Builder 2 “jumbo demo” is available to download on Steam. The demo comes ahead of the game’s December 10 launch, allowing players to try out the keyboard and mouse support, as well as the refined visual settings, before dropping $59.99. Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has been accused by the studio’s former general counsel of accepting a secret $12 million bonus from publisher Take-Two, with the Borderlands developer in turn suing Wade Callender for failing to repay money borrowed towards personal legal fees. Callender, who served with Gearbox between 2010 and 2018 and is a personal friend of Pitchford for over 40 years, filed a suit accusing Pitchford of breaching his fiduciary duties ‘by exploiting Gearbox employees and property to fund [his] private cravings....

Far Cry 5 will allow you to play its single-player campaign offline, Ubisoft has confirmed during a chat with GameSpot. While this means the game won’t force you to connect to the Internet to play solo, you’ll obviously require net access if you want to sample Far Cry 5’s cooperative mode and multiplayer offerings. Elsewhere, microtransactions will also be included in the open-world action-adventure game, but pleasingly they’re only cosmetic and do not affect gameplay whatsoever....
