Developer Square Enix has released a patch for Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster that addresses its poorly received choice of font. The remastery collection featuring reproduced versions of Final Fantasy I through VI was released in July. Players quickly noticed that the game’s font was unnecessarily difficult to read. Today’s patch aims to amend that for three of the bundled titles. The recently released Final Fantasy IV Remaster already had this patch applied at launch....

This past month Valve confirmed that it was developing a brand new Half-Life game. Half-Life: Alyx, which launches in March, marks a return to one of Valve’s most popular and successful franchises. It turns out Half-Life: Alyx wasn’t the only popular Valve property that the studio was considering revisiting, however. A new Portal game has now been revealed, though the game has long been canceled. Nevertheless, it shows Valve’s growing interest in revisiting not just Half-Life, but Portal as well....

The audience measurement system Nielsen ratings have released a series of top 15 lists looking at the year of 2022 in streaming. Unsurprisingly, the movie ranking only included films streamed on Disney+ or Netflix; however, what some may find shocking is that Disney actually dominated the list over Netflix. A new trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness dropped today. Don’t get your hopes up for too much, as there doesn’t seem to be that much new imagery to absorb. Plus, the trailer sits at exactly 30 seconds, so you are only getting a brief look at the perils facing the MCU’s Sorcerer Supreme. A presumed alternate reality Baron Mordo (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor once again) gives the title for this trailer, saying “Steven Strange, your reckoning is long overdue....

Major Dragon Ball fan Hitoshi Uchida has become the Guinness World Record holder for having the largest collection of Dragon Ball merchandise. In a video posted by the Guinness World Records team, Uchida reveals that he quit his job to build his collection and to attempt to get the world record. Uchida’s Dragon Ball merchandise collection is made up of 10,098 items, the Guinness World Records team has confirmed. From a lifesize statue of Son Goku, to a Super Saiyan Goku wig and shelves upon shelves of smaller figures, Uchida’s extensive collection makes everyone else’s merch collections look small fry in comparison....

Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo has successfully shattered his previous fundraising record for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, raising over $2.3 million in a 24-hour marathon stream, with Twitch making a surprise $1 million contribution towards the end of the fundraiser. DrLupo last held a similar fundraising stream in June of this year, raising over $1 million for the organization in four and a half hours. For today’s fundraiser, DrLupo stated for weeks that his goal was to reach $2 million....

Codemasters and EA have released a new update for F1 2021 that adds the Portugal-based Portimao circuit to the game. As announced via the game’s official website, the circuit is also known as the Algarve International Circuit debuted in Formula 1 last year. It’ll be the first of three free tracks coming over the next few months. Portimao will be followed in October with the Imola circuit and Jeddah in November....

Update, July 10, 12.25pm: Someone has snagged the English listing for the game, and more information has been revealed. There are many battle royale games to choose from nowadays. The success of PUBG and Fortnite is so ubiquitous that even Call of Duty got involved. Naturally, there are more on the way. Such as Farlight ’84, a futuristic battle royale with cyborg zombies. Much like Apex Legends, the game is going to have heroes you can choose between, which will add a MOBA-esque layer to the proceedings. As of the time of publication, it’s November 2020.
