EA has been forced to apologise and decided to remove certain in-game ads from EA Sports UFC 4 in the wake of a huge fan outcry after said advertisements were added to the game post-launch. EA has now responded to the outcry with a statement to Eurogamer saying “Earlier this week, the team turned on ad placements in EA Sports UFC 4 that appeared during the ‘Replay’ moments in gameplay. This type of advertising inventory is not new to the UFC franchise, though we have typically reserved displaying ads to specific main menu tiles or Octagon logo placement....

Elden Ring speedrunner Distortion2 is back on top with the world’s first sub-20 minute run. Distortion2 was responsible for a run under 50 minutes, which he then beat with a run under half an hour. Fallout 4 VR arrives on 12 December and in preparation Nvidia has kicked out a new set of drivers. Fallout 4 in VR is an interesting proposition but it does look a little barf-inducing. Spending long periods in VR is not a great idea and Fallout 4 is one of those games you really need to immerse yourself in. We’ll see for ourselves next week how it plays. Fallout 76 had a disastrous launch last year, and it has been playing catch-up since then, with patches and new modes and features. Last month we saw the release of the Nuclear Winter battle royale mode, which had a lukewarm reception at best so far. You can’t say Bethesda isn’t persistent, and so the patches keep coming. Patch 11 released today, and it includes a sizeable amount of fixes and adjustments to the Adventure Mode as well as Nuclear Winter....

A fan-made Red Dead Redemption project has been officially shut down, just days after Take-Two Interactive’s filed lawsuit against developer Johnathon Wyckoff came to light. Wyckoff had been working on a project called “Red Dead Redemption Damned Enhancement Project,” designed to both give the game’s visuals an upgrade and make it playable on Windows PC. Wyckoff put his Red Dead Redemption project on hiatus for the first time back in September, though he then resumed work on the project in November....
