Dying Light expansion, The Following, will launch in the first quarter of 2016, Techland has announced. A special video announcing the date has also been released. “So since Gamescom 2015, we revealed quite a bit about our upcoming expansion: the vast countryside map, the customizable dirt buggy, a new story and more,” commented producer Tymon Smektala. “What we couldn’t say before though, was the release date. Today we finally know that Dying Light: The Following will launch within the first three months of 2016....

Publisher KOEI Tecmo and developer Omega Force have announced a delay to the latest release in the long-running musou series Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires. The game had originally been scheduled for an ‘Early 2021’ release, but a statement posted to the publisher’s Twitter read: “Although Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires was initially announced as an Early 2021 release, the team are still working hard on delivering the best game possible, so we wanted to let our fans know the current situation and will announce the new launch window in future updates....

Despite the sense that it is BioShock only set in the sky, there is still a wide community of fans who are looking forward to BioShock: Infinite. With Ken Levine’s Irrational Games back at the helm, this third entry in the series promises to bring that same sense of wonderment seen in the first, but use new mechanics and characters to differentiate itself. Game Rant was able to sit in on a live demo of BioShock: Infinite, and what was on display showcased a marginally familiar experience, but one that was truly impressive in its balancing of characterization, story-telling, and action set pieces....

Sony wants gamers to play and experience 3D in a big way. To help with the cost and other barriers of entry, Sony is looking to provide what it hopes is an attractive package for gamers this Fall with its PlayStation branded 24-inch full HD LCD. In North America the 3D display will come bundled with 3D Glasses, an HDMI cable, and Resistance 3 for the PlayStation 3. This bundle will set gamers back $499....

EGX returns to Birmingham - and tickets are now on sale! EGX Birmingham 2022 is set to be held at the NEC, Birmingham and take place Friday 4th to Sunday 6th March. PAX Online is starting this weekend, and it’s bringing plenty of new reveals and trailers for games coming out this year and next. Some games got a bit of an early reveal ahead of the show, such as Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights. Ender Lilies is a dark, Metroidvania game from publisher Binary Haze Interactive and developers Live Wire and Adglobe. The nominations for the British Academy Games Awards in 2016 have been announced, with Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture leading the way with an incredible 10 noms. The annual awards show from BAFTA will take place on April 7 at Tobacco Dock, London, hosted by comedian and gamer Dara O’Briain. Her Story has seven nominations, as does The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. There’s five noms for Batman: Arkham Knight, Life is Strange and Rocket League....

Xbox has confirmed the late March offerings for Xbox Game Pass subscribers coming over the next couple of weeks. Proceedings kick off on March 17, when Shredders carves its way onto PC, Xbox Series X|S and Cloud. It’s a day one launch title on the service and has been inspired by Xbox classic Amped. That’s joined on the same day by tactical RPG The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos, on Console, Cloud and PC....

Fans of Square Enix’s classic Final Fantasy series got some big news during XO19. Not one, not two, but ten titles of the Final Fantasy series will be making their ways to Xbox Game Pass next year. Many of the later games of the Final Fantasy series, including Final Fantasy 15, will be available on the Xbox Games Pass next year. This is in addition to the other big Square news that the entirety of the Kingdom Hearts series will be making its way to Xbox....

Final Fantasy XV is now a year old, and to celebrate Square Enix has held a special Active Time Report stream on its Japanese YouTube channel to reveal details of updates that are still to come to the game, including a new character hot-swapping feature. During the stream (helpfully briefly summarised & translated via Reddit) a video revealed that you’ll soon be able to take control of Noctis, Prompto, Ignis or Gladious during battles, whereas formerly the other three characters would be mostly controlled via AI with you issuing commands as Noctis....

Today, during the 505 Games showcase, a brand new trailer for the upcoming first-person survival adventure game, Among the Trolls, was revealed. Developed by Finnish indie studio Forbidden Studios, the game places you in the shoes of an American that is looking to uncover the strange mysteries of the forests that exist near their grandparent’s home in Finland. The Dragon Quest series has been steadily growing its presence on the Nintendo Switch this year, and that’s only going to grow more this month. Square Enix announced that it will be bringing the first three Dragon Quests games to the Switch on September 27. Attentive fans will know that as the day the latest game in the main series, Dragon Quest 11, is released for the Switch. Now, they’ll also be able to dive into Dragon Quest, Dragon Quest 2: Luminaries of the Legendary Line, and Dragon Quest 3: The Seeds of Salvation at the same time through the Nintendo eShop....

Former Starcraft 2 professional Ryoo Kyung-hyun, more commonly known as “SeleCT,” has been offered an internship with Shopify– directly from the billionaire CEO himself. It started when SeleCT took to Twitter to ask his followers to refer him to any internship that pertained to software engineering. Luckily for SeleCT, Canadian-German Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke turned out to be a fan of his, immediately offering him an internship with the company. When replying to SeleCT’s tweet, Tobi made sure to note that his “Starcraft accomplishments are enough of a CV” and the spot was entirely his for the taking....

After a few months of eagerly awaiting anything in the form of news, earlier this week Nintendo finally hit us with a release date for Mario Kart Tour. The first foray onto iOS and Android for the iconic franchise, which in itself is a spinoff of an even more iconic franchise. Either way, we’re excited for it, even if it does seem that - like other mobile Mario games - we will have to pay for extras very early on in the “free” game....

Indonesian developer Digital Happiness who created the rather horrifying DreadOut (see our review) will be releasing their latest horror title for VR. Called DreadEye, the game is coming to the Vive on 28 November so be prepared to be spooked. In this game, players take on the role of an Indonesian shaman, or dukun as they are called over there, who will use rituals to open a gate to the spirit realm where all kinds of horrors lurk....

Dying Light, from the developers behind Dead Island, was a surprisingly average game when it released in 2015. It was an action-adventure horror game inspired by Dead Island. Kyle Crane was an undercover agent sent to the zombie invested guarantee zone of Harran. The game heavily centered on parkour and a day and night cycle where night brought even deadlier zombies. The original set a strong foundation for a sequel that could fix many of its mistakes....

According to a report from GameIndustry.biz and corroborated by Insider Gaming, Electronic Arts has dropped the guillotine on two Codemasters racing franchises: further work on Project CARS and Dirt titles has apparently been cancelled. The news of this shift in focus comes on the heels of the latest entries in both franchises releasing not too long ago. However, their performance seems to have not been substantial enough for EA. Project CARS is the primary victim of the sack....

Sometimes it’s a smart move when a game studio decides to prepare themselves for the future. Nothing is worse than being left in the dust seeing an idea that was initially yours being lucrative outside of your control, or even having someone capitalize on your laziness, resulting in having to fork over some cash to secure your own investment. In order to avoid either case, EA has made a big play with their Sims franchise by registering domain names for a potential 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th iteration of the game....
