After 15 years of operation the PS2 version of Final Fantasy 11 Online has been closed, alongside the more recent Xbox 360 game. The PS2 game launched in Japan way back in 2002 under Square, before the company merged with Enix in 2003. “As of Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 7:00 a.m. (PDT), service for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360 versions of FINAL FANTASY XI will end. Square Enix has announced the arrival of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series on the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023. Following a similar move by Activision Blizzard last year, EA has unveiled EA AntiCheat (EAAC), a new internally developed kernel-level anti-cheat system that’ll initially be rolling out with the launch of FIFA 23 on PC this autumn.
