We were all left to pick our jaws up from the floor when it was announced that Embracer had purchased the rights to big franchises such as Tomb Raider and Deus Ex from Square Enix earlier this month. It seemed to be the bargain of the year, if not century, for the holding company. Now, in its financial report, Embracer has highlighted its hopes for the future following this acquisition (including potential remakes of some classic titles) saying, “after the end of the quarter, we further strengthened our development capabilities and IP-portfolio by entering into an agreement to acquire Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal, including Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Thief, and Legacy of Kain and other IPs....

Fortnite players have expressed their frustration at the inclusion of the B.R.U.T.E. Mech introduced in Season X, and Epic Games has responded in a way that is sure to further frustrate the community of professional competitors. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout has announced that Season 4 will be landing on March 22 by way of a new trailer. Just recently, Giants Software announced the first major expansion for Farming Simulator 22 with the the Platinum Edition. This new expansion will contain dozens of new machinery, along with a brand-new map called Silverrun Forest that leans heavily into the logging industry. Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi has called out Square Enix for the price of a new statue that costs just shy of $11.6k (1.48m yen).
