Warner Brothers’ adaptation of Stephen King‘s sequel to The Shining, Doctor Sleep, is happening. The sequel is directed by horror auteur Mike Flanagan, who helmed Oculus and Gerald’s Game, and who recently directed one of Netflix’s very best films, Gerald’s Game, which itself was a King adaptation. Doctor Sleep first arrived in 2013 as a novel by King, 36 years after the publication of The Shining, and stars Danny Torrance, who is still coping with the aftermath of what happened so many years ago at the Overlook Hotel....

BioWare is working on Dragon Age 4. The studio announced the sequel during the 2018 Game Awards with a cryptic trailer that reveals the return of Dragon Age: Inquisition character Solas. No release window was given during the announcement. The game is still apparently “at least three years away,” according to a report from Venture Beat. The report claims the game is still in very early development and doesn’t even have an official name yet....

Bandai Namco brought Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to the annual Jump Festa manga and anime expo in a big way. Electronic Arts has allegedly approved a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game, and it’s said to be in development as a “re-imagining” of the series (via games radar). In 2019, it was reported that the publisher had canned a Star Wars game from EA Vancouver, who was the replacement for the now-non-existent Visceral Studios. This cancellation seemed to be a weakening in the partnership between EA and Disney, that had already weathered loot box controversies, delays, and technical hiccups....

EA has started inviting fans to register for a ticket to next month’s EA Play event in London. The event, which takes place at London’s Hammersmith Apollo on Sunday, June 12, will let players go hands-on with some of EA’s upcoming 2016 line-up, presumably including Titanfall 2, Battlefield 1 and FIFA 17. Tickets are free, although the event is only due to run for 3 hours late on the Sunday evening, kicking off with an hour-long press conference at 9pm and two hours of gameplay sessions from 10pm-midnight....
