Private Division and V1 Interactive have announced that they are shuttering the multiplayer servers for first person shooter Disintegration by November, just five months after the game’s June launch. The FPS/RTS hybrid—which was the brainchild of former Bungie developer and Halo creator Marcus Lehto—had struggled to find a multiplayer audience according to the statement on the closure put out last night. “From both the development team at V1 Interactive and publishing group at Private Division, we stand by the creative risks taken to launch such a unique, genre-bending game created by this small but talented and passionate team,” they said....

We’ve been sitting on one major patch for Valve’s titanic MOBA, Dota 2, for quite some time. We sit on it no longer: gameplay update 7.20 has launched, bringing with it the usual tidal wave of “wait, they did what?” that accompanies every single major Dota 2 update. Dragon Quest Builders 2 is due to receive new content in its final update, which will cap off a successful sales run for the game that resulted in over a million units being shipped. The final update for Dragon Quest Builders 2 is due to be released in Japan on August 20. There is currently no word on an international release date. According to Gematsu, the details of the update were revealed during a live stream held by Square Enix, where several new features for the game were announced....

Baldur’s Gate III is the long-awaited sequel to one of the greatest RPG series of all time. Baldur’s Gate III is being developed by Larian Studios - the company behind the Divinity: Original Sin series - and it’s connection to the story of the Bhaalspawn saga from Baldur’s Gate and Baldur’s Gate II is currently unknown....

Standing in line for The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword, an exhibit employee mentioned that Zelda was undoubtedly going to be the best game of E3. Walking away from the demo, I couldn’t help but wonder which year’s E3 the guy meant. The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword felt like it was five years old. And while Zelda isn’t known for changing something that works so well, I still felt underwhelmed by the whole experience....

EA has announced that it’s ‘ramping down and closing’ Visceral Games, the studio behind the Dead Space trilogy and Battlefield Hardline. Visceral had been working on a highly anticipated story-focused Star Wars game, which was to be directed by Amy Hennig. This will now be taken over by EA Vancouver. EA has said that the project will need to be ‘refocused’ as it seeks to shift ‘the game to be a broader experience’....

But FromSoftware will quickly prove you are wrong, and there’s some leveling up to do. Earlier today, it was reported by Rosy Cordero at Deadline that Eugene Cordero will reprise his role as TVA Agent Casey in season two of the mind-bending Marvel TV show, Loki. According to Deadline, Casey will also appear more often in this second season tieh them officially referring to Cordero as a regular. It’s worth noting in the article that it was mentioned that they reached out to Marvel for comment, but that they declined to make a statement....

Eve Online will host Doctor Who’s most iconic enemies in an unprecedented crossover event, beginning next week on 13th January. A teaser for the crossover - dubbed The Interstellar Convergence - appeared on Eve’s YouTube channel this afternoon but offers few clues as to exactly what will happen. Nevertheless, we see the iconic BBC sci-fi series’ time vortex and, at the end, a Dalek mothership powering up. “Weapons systems restoring!” screams a familiar Dalek voice....

Although Battlefield gameplay falls mainly into the genre of first person shooter, many gamers take pleasure in hopping behind the wheel of some of the game’s more exciting vehicles. While DICE has yet to reveal specifics as far as how vehicular combat will play out in Battlefield 3, throughout various trailers they have given hints as to what might be available. Unfortunately, since the trailers for Battlefield 3 have employed a disjointed editing technique, gamers might not have been able to get the clearest glimpses of all the vehicles that are featured in the trailers....

UPDATE 11.30pm: Following Fall Guys’ free-to-play announcement earlier this evening, developer Mediatonic has provided some additional details relating to the PC version, confirming the game will be delisted from Steam as of 21st June - although existing users will be able to continue playing on Valve’s platform. The news isn’t hugely surprising, of course; Epic Games acquired Mediatonic in 2021, and while the developer insisted Fall Guys would “remain available on Steam” at the time, the money was on it following a similar trajectory to Rocket League - which ended up ditching Steam in favour of the Epic Games Store after it went free-to-play following an acquisition by Epic....

Bethesda’s Todd Howard has revealed that the company has an idea for a Fallout 5, but we shouldn’t expect it any time soon. Howard was speaking to the IGN Unfiltered podcast when the subject of the post-apocalyptic RPG series came up. With the studio currently busy with Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI as officially announced projects, the team already has a lot on their plate right now. But Howard wasn’t ruling out a return to the wasteland altogether....

Live in-game events are on the way for Fallout 76. According to a recent Bethesda blog update, the events will begin sometime in early 2019. “As we approach the end of 2018, we have a few more details to share with you about our current patch schedule,” the blog explained. “In addition, we are excited to announce that, starting in early 2019, we plan to release a variety of in-game events that will take place over the course of a week....

FIFA’s most popular mode, Ultimate Team, will receive lots of new features in the next game, FIFA 20 (via IGN). Firstly, there are FUT Seasons, which are not connected to the existing Seasons mode. These Seasons will be between six and eight real-world weeks long, and completing Season Objectives will earn players experience points that chip away at big-time rewards over the course of the period. Objectives are timed, and range from simple to more invested challenges; the latter are called Milestones....

In celebration of the men’s World Cup, as well as 25 Years of FIFA, EA will also be releasing a new soundtrack into the game. This new soundtrack will feature some of the best songs to of featured in FIFA over the years. The new soundtrack features 40 new songs, and the playlist is available in FIFA 23 NOW, as well as being available on Spotify. If you’ve been playing FIFA 23 since it released you would have seen you can unlock kits inspired by the artists in the game, we are still unsure if this will be the same for the new songs but kits inspired by some of these artists would be great to see....
