EA has secretly made some its most popular games more expensive on Steam, it has been revealed. The decision to increase prices comes less than a week after a briefing with investors revealed that EA made $1.59 billion in Q4 of 2019. Gamers who try to buy EA games on Steam today may get a shock as several games have nearly doubled in price overnight. A Reddit user named MCJunior9 was the first to put together data that compared the price of these games before February 5 and after....

EA has released an extended gameplay video of Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming Star Wars adventure Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, tacking on an extra fifteen minutes of Jedi action onto the previously released video from the EA Play livestream. The video, embedded below, comes in at a meaty just-under-27 minutes, and includes additional scenes previously only shown behind closed doors at E3. Epic Games has become the subject of a class-action lawsuit in the wake of a security breach that may have let hackers in on Epic Account holders personal data last year. Just a short time after Fallout 76 players found a glitch that let them spawn NPCs into the game, Bethesda released a preview of official NPCs that will be appearing in the upcoming Wastelanders update next year. The sneak peek that players were shown focused on the residents of a wasteland bar called The Wayward, whihc will appear in the Forest region of the game. Final Fantasy VII Remake will have a turn-based Classic Mode as well as a real-time action RPG style of play, as confirmed at Tokyo Game Show (via Polygon). Producer Yoshinori Kitase said that although a great many features of the original Final Fantasy VII have been updated and refined for its modern reboot, classic JRPG gameplay has not been left behind. The new game’s Classic Mode will provide player the option of turn-based combat in which battle moves will be chosen from a combat menu....

Final Fantasy XIV Online‘s producer and director Naoki Yoshida has issued an apology to players unable to get into the MMO thanks to difficulties with server congestion. In the open letter, Yoshida explained that the game is “currently experiencing a dramatic increase in its player base.” In particular, he says, the increase in North American and EU-region players specifically over the last two weeks has been “so staggering and unexpected that many players are now having difficulty logging in or creating new characters due to server congestion....

Nintendo’s hugely-successful Fire Emblem Heroes is close to a spending total of $1bn, five years on from its launch in February 2017. Sales data provided to Eurogamer by app-tracking firm Sensor Tower shows the game has racked up more than $959m in global sales across the iPhone App Store and Google Play to date.
