When Doom Eternal released just last year, developer id Software assured fans it wouldn’t be receiving microtransactions. More specifically, the creative director Hugo Martin himself said that “Eternal is a $60 game, not a free-to-play or a mobile game,” and that there would be no store in it “like you’d expect.” However, it would appear plans have changed. A new cosmetic DLC pack has just released in Doom Eternal. Priced at $5 USD, the Doomicorn Master Collection Cosmetic Pack gives the player various skins, animations, and podiums to use....

It’s being reported that Bioware’s upcoming RPG Dragon Age 4 will launch exclusively for new-gen consoles and PC. The report comes from GamesBeat who cite the LinkedIn profile of the game’s former Lead Player Designer Daniel Nordlander. Nordlander’s employment history mentions his work on the game for a year between October 2019 and October 2020. However, it only lists PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 as platforms. In addition, GamesBeat say they’ve separately confirmed that EA has only planned the game for new-gen systems....

Dying Light 2 Stay Human developer Techland has declared it’s already working on the game’s first patches and hotfixes. Posting to fans in a thread on Twitter, the Polish studio laid out a list of fixes and improvements for all three formats. While some have already been pushed through to PC players over the weekend, the studio will be releasing some fixes for consoles too. It says that it’ll submit these tweaks in a hotfix “by the middle of next week at the latest....

EA is hiring developers to its new Seattle-based studio, to work on a single-player campaign, either for Battlefield 2042 or a future game. The job listing (via VGC) calls for people to help build “rich, exciting stories with memorable characters and powerful experiences all in the Battlefield universe.” The company is after a design director, so the project is likely in its early phase.
