F1 has entered its new era in fairly convincing fashion, with the 2022 season delivering some great action and a revised order - and now, as the circus rocks up at Imola for the start of the European season EA Sports has lifted the lid on this year’s model of the official game. F1 22, as it’s monikered, will of course feature all the tracks and new cars of the new season, alongside tweaked physics to take into account the ground-effect enabled cornering speeds of the new breed....

To me, the best moments of a city-building game are always the beginnings, when there’s nothing but potential ahead of you. Things are manageable, the world is unspoiled, the pace is slow. To me, that’s idyllic. And if ever a game understood that, it’s Farthest Frontier. It’s a game about a group of working class people fed up with being shat on by the rich, in the big city where they live, so they strike out for the literal farthest frontier to make it on their own....

There are Fatal Frame and Silent Hill movie adaptations in the works, and at the helm of both projects is Christophe Gans, who was the director of the first Silent Hill film released in 2006 (via PlayStation Trophies). As revealed at last night’s Nintendo Direct event, Bethesda has announced that it’s bringing Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus to the Nintendo Switch. Yes, really. Doom will be out later this year, and Wolfenstein II will follow in 2018. Snap Maps on the go… give me strength! A brief clip of what looked like in-game footage for Doom on the Nintendo Switch was shown during the presentation, and whilst it doesn’t have that high resolution look of the other consoles, it looks pretty impressive considering it’s running on the hybrid console....

At QuakeCon last Friday, id Software and Bethesda showed off more gameplay and detailed Doom Eternal’s multiplayer Battlemode. Battlemode will pit one Slayer against two player-controlled demons, with five different enemy classes to tempt players into varying gameplay styles. One of these is the Revenant, a wiry jet-packed threat from above and everywhere else this agile menace can reach. Another is the Pain Elemental, a big floaty horned head who shields itself with small floaty horned skulls, and charges up a devastating attack....

One of the best things about Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot (apart from being able to play as iconic characters like Super Vegito) is it allows fans to relive many of their favorite moments from the classic anime. What really ties it together is the inclusion of many of the original voices from the series, making the game all the more nostalgic. Sadly, it seems fans will never again hear one of the classic voices from this franchise....

Most of the new games coming to PC Game Pass for September 2022 are rather on the docile side. We’ll see Disney Dreamlight Valley, Train Sim World 3, and DC League of Super-Pets joining the service. Fans of Dying Light can rest assured that the game will be supported with new content until at least the end of 2016, developer Techland has announced. EA has given us some great news regarding the legendary RTS series Command and Conquer today. In a stunning move, the company has announced that it will release the original source code for the 1995 original Command and Conquer, as well as the 1996 follow-up, Red Alert. The code will release under a General Public Licence on June 5, which is also the release date for the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection....

FromSoftware’s anticipated new IP, Elden Ring, has now officially gone gold. The industry term, which originally indicated that a game file was finished and ready for print on CD, has lost part of its meaning in today’s digital era, but the most important bottom line remains the same: Elden Ring is now more or less immune from any further delays and will certainly be launching on its Feb. 25 release date next month....
