Final Fantasy XIV patch 5.3, slated for release on August 11th, has received a shiny new trailer and a whole load of delicious details. The trailer is naturally a bit spoiler-y, so if you haven’t caught up to the current content or simply don’t want to know what’s coming, then you may not want to read on. Just a heads-up. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at what this patch brings with it....
The Retro CD offers you the ability to get your hands on 16 different collectibles in FNAF (Five Nights at Freddy’s) Security Breach. As the name suggests, these items are small disks that are scattered all across the Pizzaplex. You will find yourself looking for these unique items as you make your way across the game whilst dodging the evil animatronics. You will also only be able to get your hands on the CDs once you upgrade Freddy with the claws & eyes of Montgomery Gator and Roxanne Wolf respectively....
Football Manager 2020’s player database has been altered after accusations of racial profiling (via INews). Last year, an article stated that game-generated players with darker skin would be more likely to rank poorly for professionalism, loyalty and sportsmanship. Sports Interactive studio director Miles Jacobson denied these claims, and explained that generated players with darker skin would rank favourably for traits like ambition, temperament and controversy. Jacobson invited the article’s author to prove their argument with data in a Twitter post....
The Stitch quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley can only be accessed once you’ve unlocked Stitch by finding the three socks in the valley and then placing a beacon at the Skull Rock location. Once you place Stitch’s house and he’s officially a part of your valley, you’ll then have to fulfil a number of hidden requirements to progress with his storyline. This DuckTales review contains spoilers. DuckTales Season 2 Episode 12 Nothing can stop Della Duck… except years of built up expectations! Both her and the kids have been waiting for this moment and I’m delighted it only took until the second season of DuckTales for us to get it. In RPGs like Dungeons and Dragons, metagaming is when players use their knowledge of the game rules to get an advantage that contradicts how their characters might reasonably act. This is to some degree unavoidable, but excessive metagaming can also end up spoiling the role-playing aspect of the game. Not only that, but metagamers can use their extensive rules knowledge to know the weaknesses of monsters they’ve never encountered before or build overpowered characters that don’t make sense in the story....
Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is a game I’m very much looking forward to. It may not be out yet, but information is now available on exactly what can be expected from the game’s post-launch DLC. So far, there are three pieces of content lined up. However, there’s no telling if there will be more coming down the line if the game is a big hit. Killzone 3 will be the first game in the series to use motion control and be available in 3D. At the Sony E3 Press Conference we covered, Killzone 3 was finally shown in 3D form: intense action, jetpacks, Helghast dropping left and right - it was an intense experience. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will not get an EA Access trial because EA is very worried about story spoilers appearing online before the game launches on November 15 (via VG247). Instead, EA Access subscribers are getting exclusive skins for the Stinger Mantis and Cal’s droid BD-1, and a 10 per cent discount on the full price of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. In addition, the new game will be sold through Steam as part of EA and Valve’s new collaboration....
EA has released some details on Battlefield 1’s upcoming expansion, Turning Tides. This will be the third expansion released for the WW1 shooter, and will be released during December 2017 and January 2018. The staggered release of all of the DLC ensures that a steady release of maps, vehicles and other content comes to the game over the two months. One of the notable additions will be the opportunity to play as the British Empire: Royal Marines....

The date by which all new mobile devices sold in the EU must use USB-C charging has been officially confirmed. Previously, a window of autumn 2024 had been set as the deadline. MEPs and EU member states voted to adopt USB-C charging ports back in October. As PS5 continues to remain elusive, Sony has opened up registrations on its PlayStation Direct site to give European consumers a chance to purchase the console straight from the company. Evil West on PS5 I’m often left wishing developers would trade quantity for quality, and so I’m pleased to say Flying Wild Hog’s latest western follows that very blueprint with the Evil West. Rather than forging some enormous open world and cluttering it with shallow objectives, it is instead a linear affair that still manages to capture a sense of wonder and adventure. It stands as a fun throwback to simpler times as a result, even if it doesn’t quite stick the landing with everything it is trying to achieve....
New findings in the Fallout 76 code are leading fans to believe that the game is about to go heavy on the microtransactions. The biggest indicator of this is the continued presence of an item called a “lunchbox” as well as code that suggests these lunchboxes will be purchasable for real-world money. The code also implies that these lunchboxes will offer generous buffs to stats like XP gain, a big red flag in an online multiplayer game....
