When you start a new save on Football Manager 2023 (FM23), one of the first things you will look for is what players’ contracts are about to expire.
Luckily, we don’t need to wait for the game to see who’s deals will be running out after that first season so we have made a guide for all the players coming to the end of their deal.
FM23: How to Sign Players for Free?
One thing to keep in mind with contracts in FM, is that the club may offer the player a new deal at any time, so even if their contract is expiring in real life, that may change in game.
You also can only sign players on a free when they’re in the last six months of their deal, they also need to be playing in a different country to the league you’re playing in. Then if they fulfil all this criteria you simply:
- Search player you’re looking for in the bar at the top Then click on the contract tab at the top In the drop down, if their contract is expiring and you’re within the parameters mentioned above, you can approach to signFrom here you can begin negotiations with the player.
