With only 3 months to go until the release of Scream 6, the movie has finally released its first official trailer, confirming the official title of the movie as Scream VI.The movie is not only a direct sequel to the previous Scream movies but is also the second instalment in a planned new Scream movie trilogy that began with 2022’s “requel” Scream starring Melissa Barrera, and Wednesday star Jenna Ortega as sisters terrorised by a new generation of the “Ghostface” killer.

Scream 6 finds the survivors of the latest “Ghostface” murders, leaving their home (and the franchise’s traditional setting) of Woodsboro, for the bright lights and sights of New York City.But as this chilling first teaser shows, and in a play on the infamous Alien tagline, “In space. No one can hear you scream.” This first teaser trailer for Scream 6 shows that even in one of the world’s most famous cities, you’re never safe, as “In a city of millions. No one can hear you scream.”And this is underlined brilliantly in the teaser with the tension rising throughout the trailer as our heroes realise while travelling on a New York Subway train that not only is a “Ghostface” killer hunting them once more. But, they are trapped on the train with the killer, surrounded by dozens of people in costumes, with no way for our heroes to tell who is the killer (or killers) and who isn’t…Scream VI is set for release exclusively in theatres on 10th March 2023 with a Paramount + streaming release likely coming after the movie’s theatrical run has ended.
