It’s a Christmas miracle: 2B’s booty is coming back to Final Fantasy XIV.
Back In October, Final Fantasy XIV got its big raid based on Nier: Automata which of course gave players the chance to equip 2B’s outfit on their avatar. This particular set of clothing would also have an additional bonus effect: The bottom part would not only leave your character clad in naught but underwear and thigh-high stockings, but also significantly increased the size of their posterior. Needless to say, this outfit became very popular.
However, a recent patch has committed a heinous crime against fans of this look. For whatever reason, the 2B outfit’s butt size has been decreased to its default flat state, which has unsurprisingly left many players feeling pretty unhappy.
The good news is that FFXIV producer Naoki Yoshida is aware of this awful mistake and is looking to rectify it very soon. On the latest FFXIV livestream, Yoshida noted that this derriere decrease was only temporary and that it would be fixed in patch 5.18 which will added to the game on Christmas Eve, December 24th.
In addition to the patch’s grievous error - which, according to fan translation, Yoshida referred to as a “bottom nerf” - the producer is also well aware that fans want a butt slider to be added to the customization options. He didn’t go into detail on whether or not that request will come to FFXIV, but he stated that the 2B outfit’s capricious caboose was supposed to be a way for players to add the abundant behinds that they wanted for their characters, so it will definitely return.
Sadly, we didn’t find out much more about Yoshida’s further butt-related plans for the game as he had to talk about other content being added in with patch 5.2 which arrives this upcoming February. That patch will feature adjustments to the way crafting works in-game, some new dungeons to explore, and new trials including a fight with Final Fantasy 7’s Ruby Weapon.
For now, Final Fantasy XIV players can rest easy with the knowledge that they’ll be able to spend Christmas Day looking at their character’s digital junk in the trunk.
