Las Vegas might have a reputation of being an anything-goes town, but that doesn’t meant that anything actually goes. For instance, if you decide to rent a room at a Las Vegas Strip hotel, and proceed to break windows, put holes in the walls, and destroy furniture, there’s a good chance you’re going to get into trouble.
With that said, TMZ reports that Ricky Banks, also known as FaZe Banks, rented a room at the ENCORE, and proceeded to break windows, put holes in the walls, and destroy furniture.
There’s a good chance he won’t get in trouble for it, though. It turns out having boatloads of cash can do wonders when it comes to keeping yourself from facing consequences.
A TMZ video shows the aftermath Banks supposedly caused:
Banks, who co-founded the FaZe Clan, reportedly caused about $30,000 in damage to the room on October 14 - four days before his 28th birthday.
Banks has rarely posted to social media since the end of September, but two days before he destroyed the room, he posted “I think I’m in love?” to his Twitter account. On his actual birthday, he posted to twitter saying that the last few months have been “weird” for him, but “new year, new me.”
In Nevada, damaging property worth more than $5,000 can get a person charged with Felony Malicious Destruction of Property, which can result in a sentence of 1 to 5 years in prison. However, TMZ reports that Banks has worked out a deal to pay for the room’s repairs, and Las Vegas resorts tend to not press charges in such situations.
Banks, for his part, hasn’t said anything publicly about the incident. He hasn’t posted anything to his YouTube channel since May 20, and hasn’t said anything on Twitter since his birthday tweet.
It doesn’t seem that anyone was injured as a result of this strange incident. If the ENCORE is getting fully paid for the cost of the damage, perhaps it’s just a case of no harm, no foul.
