Whenever I hear the words Take Me Home in the context of a song, I immediately think of the Phil Collins tune of the same name. You know, the one from No Jacket Required where he visits all those places around the world and still makes it home in time for dinner.
Still, there’s obviously another song that employs those lyrics, namely John Denver’s Take Me Home, Country Roads. It’s not bad, but Phil’s is obviously better.
Gamers will probably be familiar with this ditty as it was used as the soundtrack to Fallout 76’s reveal trailer, with a cover version now available as a charity single on iTunes thanks to developer Bethesda Game Studios.
The studio has confirmed that 100% of the proceeds will go directly to charity, namely Habitat for Humanity. They’re a non-profit organisation that aids individuals from disadvantaged areas across the globe in establishing stable communities.
We’re rebuilding America – and the world – for the better with @Habitat_Org! Starting July 4th, visit iTunes to get the #Fallout76 cover of “Country Roads” as heard in the announcement trailer. 100% of our proceeds will go to funding Habitat for Humanity! https://t.co/KlZ42DYcH9 pic.twitter.com/MrXNmfKmcd
