2020 is expected to give gamers a better and bigger gaming experience. The competition between consoles is heating up so more and more exclusives are being announced. Those that are now known come to both the PS5 and the PS4, which means Sony will release the next console this year.
Up until now, just one game was confirmed for the PlayStation 5, which led to numerous Playstation vs Xbox memes. However, this will change when closer to the official release date. Nobody knows if the PS5 will be a hit but it will surely bring in some great games. Until the console’s launch date, here are the PS4 and PS5 exclusive games coming out in 2020 confirmed at press time.
12 Granblue Fantasy: Versus
The game is based on a mobile free-to-play RPG, but it is a 2D fighting game developed by Arc System Works.
It was announced at the 2019 E3, with 11 characters. In the future, DLCs will offer extra characters based on the universe that was featured in the mobile game.
11 Street Fighter V: Champion Edition
Street Fighter V went through countless DLCs, updates and changes in the past 4 years. The Champion Edition is announced for all platforms and claims to be the perfect package for newcomers and fans. It includes extra costumes, 40 characters, balance changes and new fighting stages, with many strong characters making a comeback.
The main returning fighter is Seth. He will be an exclusive available to the Champion Edition. At the same time, this will be the game version that will be used for most 2020 eSports competitions.
10 Marvel’s Iron Man VR
The game is an exclusive for PSVR. It allows the player to become Iron Man and engage on a new adventure.
The VR headset is used and will imitate the in-helmet UI of Tony Stark. Virtual reality use stands out as the most attractive part of the game.
9 Final Fantasy VII Remake
Final Fantasy VII can be described as a cult classic. Fans have been asking for a remake for years. 2020 is the year when they get it as an exclusive for the PS4.
Initially, the remake was supposed to be done for the PS2 but that project was quickly abandoned. Square Enix ended up announcing the official remake at E3 2015. 5 years later, the game will be launched on March 3, 2020, which is exactly 23 years from the original release date.
8 Nioh 2
Nioh 2 is officially a sequel for Nioh, which was launched in 2017. However, its storyline is actually a prequel.
Just as the original, a beta was released and it was well-received by gamers. Everyone looking for fast-paced fighting action with samurais needs to mark the official release date of Nioh 2.
7 Persona 5 Royal
Persona 5 Royal was released in the past in Japan and is practically an expanded version of the original. The new version adds full PS4 Pro support, an extra Phantom thief, an extra in-game semester and 20 extra music tracks.
This game version will be tailored for both veterans and newcomers, with an interesting release bundle that includes a steel book case, the soundtrack, an artbook, a Joker mask and more.
6 Predator: Hunting Grounds
The asymmetrical shooter is an exclusive for the PS4. You can play as the Predator or as a human.
Based on this choice, you either hunt or run away from the hunter. Also, as a human player, you are playing with others and you have some extra goals that have to be hit without being killed by the Predator.
5 The Last Of Us Part II
The Last Of Us was a huge hit that was appreciated by millions from around the world. The second part of the game follows the older versions of the characters, Joel and Ellie, with the action happening 5 years after the first game.
Ellie will start a journey looking for closure, justice and vengeance. All of this happens in a world that is even more realistic than the original, with incredible meticulous details.
4 Ghost Of Tsushima
Sucker Punch announced Ghost Of Tsushima in 2017 and in Summer 2020, it will be released. The game is set in the year 1270.
The player gets in the shoes of a Samurai, Jin Sakai, who defends Tsushima against Mongols. The trailers revealed exciting combat and a beautiful environment to be explored.
3 The Pathless
The single-player adventure of The Pathless takes players to a world filled with darkness. You go through a cursed island and have to deal with many problems as you explore ancient ruins, hunt and do a lot more.
The character is practically a hunter that moves through a surreal world surrounded by mysticism. Archery is designed differently in this game and the setting is intriguing. This is why the game is expected to be one of the most successful indie releases of the year for PS4.
2 Yakuza: Like A Dragon
Yakuza: Like A Dragon allows you to take the role of Arakawa Family’s Ichiban Kasuga. You are put in prison for 18 years and then you end up reaching Yokohama.
The story starts then and the player will enjoy a brand new combat system that includes TBS elements and brawler fighting. While the official release date for Japan is January 16, 2020, the worldwide launch will be later.
1 Godfall
Godfall is a melee action third-person RPG and stands out as the only official PS5 release announced so far. You can play with others or alone. Not much has been released about the game, except some gameplay footage and a post on the Playstation Blog.
