Want to get your romance on with Persona 5 Royal’s awesome cast of characters? This guide is here to tell you exactly what you need to do to win the hearts of a bunch of the game’s female characters. Sadly, there’s no option for same-gender romances, but there are a wide number of different girls, each with vastly different personalities for you to woo.
While for many of them, the path you need to take is fairly easy, this is not the case for all of them, with some requiring a bit of extra charm or knowledge. Read on, and let those romances blossom!

Persona 5 Royal Relationships Summary
To romance characters, you need to increase your Confidant Rank with them until a certain point — usually Rank 9 — at which time, you will have a conversation where you can choose to date them or not. Many confidants require you to have a certain skill rank to be able to hang out with them, and others have additional pre-requisites to unlock also.
When it comes to non-party member confidants, you will usually have to complete tasks in Mementos that are tied to their storylines in order to progress and romance them.
Increasing your Confidant Rank quickly can be done by ensuring you are carrying a persona of the same arcana type when hanging out with your chosen confidant, giving gifts, and by choosing the correct responses when it comes to conversations.
Can You Romance More Than One Character?
The short answer? Yes.
Though you can date more than one girl at a time in Persona 5 and Royal, there are some consequences… If you’re going to cheat on a girl with several others at once, what can we say… Valentine’s Day will certainly be an interesting one for you. Oh, and you can’t break up with a girl, so choose wisely, if you want to be monogamous.
Ann Takamaki
Availability
Ann can be found in the Underground Shopping Mall on the following days. She is available regardless of whether it is raining or not.
Unlocks
Ann is the Lovers Arcana confidant and unlocks on 4/15 as part of the main storyline. You’ll need Kindness Rank 2 to be able to hang out with her the first time. We have a full romance guide right here.
Makoto Niijima
Makoto can be found outside of the Student Council Office in Shujin Academy during school days, or at the Subway Station during non-school days according to the following table. She is available regardless of whether it is raining or not.
Makoto is the Priestess Arcana confidant and unlocks on 6/25 as part of the main storyline. You need Knowledge Rank 3 for her to agree to hang out with you the first time. We have a full romance guide right here.
Futaba Sakura
Futaba can be found just outside of LeBlanc on the following days, but only when it is not raining.
Futaba is the Hermit Arcana confidant and unlocks on 8/31 as part of the main storyline. You need Kindness Rank 4 to hang out with her for the first time. We have a full romance guide right here.
Haru Okumura
Haru can be found on the Rooftop of Shujin Academy on the following days, however, she will not be there when it is raining.
Haru is the Empress Arcana confidant and unlocks on 10/31 as part of the main storyline. You will need Proficiency Rank 5 to hang out with Haru. We have a full romance guide right here.
Tae Takemi
Tae can be found in the Takemi Medical Clinic in Yongen-Jaya on the following days. The clinic is always open, regardless of rain.
Tae is the Death Arcana confidant and is introduced as part of the main storyline. You can start hanging out with her beginning 4/15. You’ll need Guts Rank 2 to be able to hang out with her (do her clinical trials) and then will later need Charm Rank 4 too. We have a full romance guide right here.
Sadayo Kawakami
Sadayo can be called from the payphone in LeBlanc on the following evenings, regardless of whether it is raining or not.
Sadayo is the Temperance Arcana confidant who you will meet as part of the main storyline. From 5/24, you’ll be able to hang out with her, but you’ll need Guts Rank 3 to be able to call her the first time. We have a full romance guide right here.
Hifumi Togo
Hifumi can be found in Kanda Church on the following days and will be there whether it is raining or not.
Hifumi is the Star Arcana confidant and you’ll be able to meet her in the church from 6/25 onwards, but only once you reach Confidant Rank 2 with Yusuke. Additionally, you will need Charm Rank 3 to hang out with her for the first time. We have a full romance guide right here.
Chihaya Mifune
Chihaya can be found in the same spot on the streets of Shinjuku on the following days, however, she will not be there when it is raining.
Chihaya is the Fortune Arcana confidant and can be found once you’ve unlocked Shinjuku after 6/22. Additionally, you’ll need ¥100,000 to purchase the Holy Stone from her and begin to build your relationship. We have a full romance guide right here.
Ichiko Ohya
Ichiko can be found in the Crossroads Bar in Shinjuku on the following evenings, regardless of whether it is raining.
Ichiko is the Devil Arcana confidant and you will be introduced to her as part of the main storyline. However, you can start working on your relationship with her after 6/23 but you’ll need Charm Rank 3. We have a full romance guide right here.
Kasumi Yoshizawa
Kasumi is harder to meet with as her availability is more sporadic than the other romanceable confidants. She can be found on the streets of Kichijoji, but only if it is not raining.
