Flying Dragon Agheel just one of many optional bosses found in the open world of Elden Ring.

This winged terror can be found relatively close to where you begin the game. Simply by heading over to the Dragon-Burnt Ruins in Limgrave, you’ll find Flying Dragon Agheel.

You can take down Flying either solo or co-op with another player or NPC, although the latter is definitely easier. Additionally, using a spirit ash summon in the fight against this boss is allowed.

How to prepare for Flying Dragon Agheel

To fight Flying Dragon Agheel, we’d simply recommend one thing: Torrent. The spectral steed can be obtained near the beginning of Elden Ring, and all you need to do to unlock Torrent is meet Melina.

Flying Dragon Agheel tips: How to beat Flying Dragon Agheel

To defeat Flying Dragon Agheel, we’d absolutely recommend using Torrent. Make sure you’ve got the Spectral Steed Whistle selected as one of the quick items from your inventory, so that even if the horse should perish during the fight, you can summon it right back and pick up where you left off.

Staying on the move is paramount against Flying Dragon Agheel. As you can tell by the bombastic entrance of the beast, it can crush anyone underfoot who hangs around in one place for too long, so you’ll want to keep circling the dragon atop Torrent, and basically running in for a quick swipe or ranged magic attack whenever possible.

Take care not to hang around the back of Flying Dragon Agheel for too long. Staying within a few meters of the dragon’s legs will cause it to swipe its tail around, battering anyone who’s caught behind it.

Whenever Flying Dragon Agheel rises up into the air, one of two things will happen. It’ll either breathe out a column of fire which slowly reaches towards you, or come slamming down on top of you.

If the dragon comes slamming down top of you - which you’ll be able to tell by the fact it isn’t breathing fire after roughly two seconds in the air - you need to strafe around the dragon.

Flying Dragon Agheel doesn’t appear to be weak to any one attribute in Elden Ring, but it is worth peppering it with Glintstone Pebble attacks if you can.

Once you have settled on a starting class and starting Keepsake item,

you should first work out how to level up, how to respec and use Ashes of War.

If you can defeat Flying Dragon Agheel, you’ll be rewarded with 5,000 Runes, which is enough for a level or two in the early hours of Elden Ring.

Now that Flying Dragon Agheel is down, the Dragon-Burnt Ruins are a much safer place to explore. You’re not done yet with dragons though, because as you might naturally expect in a game by FromSoftware, there’s plenty more where that came from.
