Today El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron creator Takeyasu Sawaki released a video announcing new information about the Nintendo Switch port of the game.

First of all, we hear that the game is coming to Nintendo’s console within 2022. At the moment we don’t have a more precise release date.

We also get the introduction of the developer handling the port, Shinjuku-based studio Aqualead, directly from its CEO Hiroyuki Hayashihara.

It’s not a well-known game within the gaming industry because the company works mostly on a support role on the engine side for games by other studios. That being said, this gives them an edge because El Shaddai is developed with an old engine that is no longer supported and has no current libraries.

You can check out the video below.

If you’re unfamiliar with El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron, it was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2011. Here’s an official description:

The game was created by Takeyasu Sawaki, known for his work on Devil May Cry, Steel Battalion, Okami, Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, Infinite Space, God Wars. and The Lost Child.
