eBay UK has announced that it’s launching its own dedicated video games store. This venture will be branded The Entertainment Shop, and will be a ‘curated on-site destination’ for new and pre-owned games. It’ll also sell music, movies and books. Just like HMV does.
As part of this new venture, eBay’s encouraging booksellers, publishers and video games outlets to list more new releases for sale as third party retailers. This venture is in response to a growing interest from customers in finding bargains. In return for their participation, eBay’s willing to offer suppliers lower listing fees, as well as ‘prime marketing and advertising opportunities to support a weekly cycle of new releases’, the company has said.
