A professional FIFA player has been banned from all future competitions for disparaging EA during a live stream and spitting on its logo.
With money on the line and livings to be made, things can get pretty nasty should something not go a player’s way. That can lead to smack talk between players and there are even rivalries within certain circles. It’s important to keep things civil though, no matter how angry you might get.
We’d recommend professional FIFA player Kurt0411 bear that in mind, but it seems as if that advice would be too little too late. Game Life has reported that Kurt0411 has been banned for his latest outburst during a live stream, which is the latest in a litany during which he has let it be known how little he thinks of EA and the game he has managed to make money from. Be warned, the clip contains language some people may find offensive.
Oddly enough, the foul-mouthed tirade begins when Kurt0411 scores a goal. An equalizer right at the end of the game to make it 2-2. At that point, he hits pause and proceeds to slam EA and FIFA. His rant ends with him picking up a scarf sporting the EA logo and spitting on it. Seems as if that act was beyond the pale for EA as the developer has now issued a ban to Kurt0411.
“Disqualification from all EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global Series competition and any future events scheduled beyond this season — effective immediately,” EA wrote as a part of its statement in regard to the incident. As for the rest of the FIFA community, seems as if streamers and pros are split. Some players believe there’s a limit to smack talk and a ban such as this has been a long time coming for Kurt0411. Others have started a #FreeKurt movement on Twitter and believe the punishment does not fit the crime.
