Gamespot has reported that E3 2017 will be offering tickets to the general public this year. 15,000 tickets will go on sale this Monday February 13.

Tickets will cost you $250 a throw, or $150 if you snag one with the early bird discount on Monday. With a ticket you get access to the show floor, panels, and ‘other events’, all taking place on the Tuesday to Thursday of E3 week this year, June 13 – 15.

The Entertainment Software Association, which is the organisation that puts on E3, has partnered with international media man of mystery Geoff Keighley to give public attendees access to special stuff Keighley is organising, including dev interviews. Details are still to be announced.

E3 has been dipping it’s toe in the water of public attendance with events like the E3 Live event last year, was was free and open to anyone, taking place just outside the LA Convention Center. Rich Taylor, ESA’s senior VP of communications told Gamespot that “The feedback we heard was clear–they wanted to play the games inside the convention center. In addition, exhibitors inside the convention center wanted to have access to the fans. So this year we’re bringing the two together.”

E3 has definitely been changing in recent years, with some large publishers pulling out of exhibiting at the show, but it’s still undeniably the largest event in the gaming calendar. This news will no doubt excite a lot of people, which isn’t really a bad thing.
