Guy Beahm IV, the man behind Dr Disrespect, broke character while streaming Counter Strike: Global Offensive on Twitch. At the time, he was playing with fellow streamer CouRageJD – when both devolved into fits of laughter during an “intense” match.

After identifying the approximate location of their opponents, The Doc attempts to “flash” them with a grenade, but throws it to short and blinds the pair instead. Unfazed, CouRage decides to try again with another flash-bang, but Dr Disrespect looks directly at it, again blinding his character and causing him to snicker for a moment. Only after CouRage fails to use a yet another grenade does Beahm break into full-out laughter at the ungraceful chain of failures. The clip hilariously ends with Dr Disrespect throwing a 4th grenade, also too short.

Although streamers often keep things light and laugh throughout their broadcasts, the fact that Beahm plays a serious character make his fits of laughter that much more entertaining. Generally speaking, he does a great job of remaining in-character, staying completely serious and focused. People love seeing him break character so much that there are multiple YouTube videos dedicated to the streamer’s failures to remain composed.

Beahm rarely comes out during the broadcasts, but when he does, it’s usually funny. The few times he has appeared out of character on purpose have been to address his controversies. Some of the most notable instances of intentionally breaking the Dr Disrespect character was when announcing his hiatus from streaming, addressing his house being shot at, and apologizing for the E3 bathroom-streaming incident.

Nevertheless, when not attempting to dominate his competition in various multiplayer games, The Doc can be found giving inspirational speeches such as the following:

Even though Beahm is branching out – appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live and securing a TV show deal – he always comes as Dr Disrespect, owning the hyper-competitive esports player persona. Though it is infrequent, this likely won’t be the last time he breaks from Dr Disrespect. Considering his close to 100-hours-a-month streaming schedule, Guy Beahm IV is bound to show himself on occasion, specifically when chat cracks him up.
