Disney Dreamlight Valley has launched into early access, giving Disney fans all over the world the chance to explore a magical new world with all their favourite Disney and Pixar characters.

The game’s been described as a cross between a life sim and an adventure, putting us in mind of Stardew Valley but with many more recognisable characters.

It’s set to launch in a free-to-play state next year, but those who want to try it ahead of time can get themselves into early access from today.

Disney Dreamlight Valley – what is the release date?

Officially, the game will launch into early access from today, Tuesday September 6. Players are able to get into this early access stage via a purchase on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch.

However, the game will be free-to-play once this early access period is over, currently pencilled in for some time in 2023.

Disney Dreamlight Valley – how do I get into Early Access?

There’s a few methods to get into the Early Access. If you have an active Xbox Game Pass subscription, you can download and play the standard edition for no extra cost on Xbox and PC.

If you want entry on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch, however, you’ll have to pay for early access from your console’s respective storefronts. There’s also a couple of limited editions on all formats, which get you some bonus content if you pay a little more.
